Thanks Daniel-san, if anyone asks anything, just chime in :)

Rev, I would suggest you upgrade using vx777 1.11 + no text, filemanager, easy theming mods - the link is about 3 or 4 posts up. Don't worry about bricking your player with this one, its been tried and tested, all you need to do is to....

Copy all these files over to your vx777 (instructions not needed on player but won't affect it :)
Image

Then follow step 4 onwards of my original upgrade. You just need to remember that you will no longer have the snake game and going into the snake game will load up the file manager which doesn't yet work on vx777 - but don't panic, if you happen to go there accidentily, just push in your reset button :)

As log as you have enough battery power to upgrade, it should be fine, but I will put step by step for recoverying your player should it ever get bricked :) And I'll put up a how to put new themes on the player on the fly once I finish my joker part of the dark knight theme :)

i just found something that i thinks it is not right, when i'm in the music player and it is in pause the image displayed is the two sticks as in paus and when the music is playing it has tha arrow there, shouldn't it be the oposite?

does anyboddy else has this situation?

also, can you tell me a good converter that converts to .ani files, i have an idea for the logon and the logoff

thanks

It's how its meant to be, when the music is playing it has a play button, when its on pause it has the pause button - I guess if you happened not to hve your headphones in or the speaker on you could quickly tell whether its playing or not.

Been trying to find a good converter and had no luck as of yet, want to change my start up too, will post anything if I find one.

Trying to make simple icons for like the music player to match my Dark Knight/joker theme and keep getting pink halos which is annoying, why they can't accept true png files with transparencies i don't know! May have to use an icon maker instead of PS. Joker theme is about 95% done now, just need to sort out function icons and then i'll post :)

Work around the 'pink halo' on drawn icons

Ok Guys, i've kind of figured a way of making drawn white icons without the pink halo using photoshop.

First, open up a new transparent file 26x26 - I have managed to get up to 30x30 for the icons, so its up to you what size you'd like them. Then zoom into image until its a workable size, mine is 800%.

Image

Create 3 layers - your BG which will stay transparent, The pink layer to make it transparent on the vx777 Under the picker it is R:255, G:0, B:255.

Image

On the top layer, use the brush to draw your icon - make sure its a small brush as you'll see why in a bit, don't worry if its faded.

Image

Click anywhere on the white arrow with the bucket and it will fill it out for you removing the half shades of pink that cause the halo - obviously if you used a big brush you'll find that it might not resemble an arrow anymore, where as a smaller one works pretty well and still hold the look of an arrow.

Image Image

Save the file as a png, if you have your player plug in and the edit themes on the fly mod, then just open the vx777p--> res--> (which ever theme folder) a--> return.png and replace the existing image and then its all done and it looks very clean on the player without the halo!

Image Image

So with this revelation, it looks like the joker theme will be with you shortly! :D

EDIT: Or just use the pencil tool...
Image Cheers Mad!

ves

if you are drawing manually try using the pen instead of the brush tool, it creates the effect you want without any soft edges, just solid color

I've never really gotten the hang of the pen tool, it never quite does what I want it to do LOL! I'm more of a pen and tablet kind of gal :D Should try to master pen tool someday I guess. Thanks for tip tho!

EDIT
Ah, I think Maderin meant the pencil tool - yes, that is probably a quicker way than what I did - DOH!! Either way works tho.

Cheers Mad  making me blush! I wanted to go for something a bit more natural, with the flo, Ironic thing is that I love all the crisp, simple designs everyone else is doing. Some good stuff on there. But yes, I did an illustration degree at uni also a new media design and production one too. I'm glad something stuck during those 6 years LOL!! :D Just love being creative really.

Talking of which, where's your entry? :)

The Dark Knight Theme: Theme A: The Joker

Ok guys, here it is, this is just theme A -The Joker.

You will need to have v1.11 with all mods running on your player to take advantage of this part theme or you can wait until I've finished the full Dark Knight theme to update your player. Check http://www.mp4nation.net/forum/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=5529 For a guide on updating firmware/themes, etc.

All you need to do is open up on your player via your pc:

vx777p --> res Then copy and paste the folders here and accept the over write. Then place 001JOKERBG.PNG into your PICTURES folder in the root of your player.

Main Screen

USB connected & Battery Charging

Make sure once you start up your vx777 to go to pictures and set 001JOKERBG.PNG as the background for everything other than main and there you have the joker theme for you to enjoy.

Reviews, comments and glitches would be great to hear about. Just go to:

http://www.mp4nation.net/forum/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=5529

and leave me a note :)

The Dark Knight Theme: Theme A: The Joker v1.0

Enjoy!! :D BTW check out the volume on the audio player....

Great review, I thought it was much like Raz's review. I would say more informative than Bryce's but not really as fun (sorry!). I love that theme, the 'Why so Sad' thing is my favorite piece of art from the batman movie.

You're voice is, I agree very soothing and much like a child's. You should consider possibly singing or advertisements, who knows you might get some pros interested :P.

Bottom line: Great review, maybe you should enter this in that contest if you haven't already.

Mmmmmm,
The Interested

Wow Vess,
Just have a late chime in - great work on the icons, I think Warner Bros will be hunting you down. I would imagine if they had to do a theme, this would be it.
Cheers,

I doubt very much anyone would be interested in my singing, i'm pretty musical and can hum in key, but as soon as I start adding words I have the neighbours knocking on the door thinking we're strangling cats.

BTW are you american? :)

Thanks for the comments & to zzzipped too. Next one will be the Batman part of the theme... or maybe harvey dent... :D

Vess, I just downloaded and installed the Joker theme. It's bloody BRILLIANT!
I love it. You did a fantastic job and I love it!

I haven't come across any bugs yet. I use my player at least 4 or 5 hours a day so if I come across any I'll let you know.

Thanks a million.

PS the little things like the"The Joker" volume bar and having the note symbol change to the headphones when the speaker is off is a really nice touch.

At the risk of drifting off topic, I just got my 777, and noticed the same issue as Vess with the TV out - need to pull it out slightly to get picture and sound. Otherwise worked okay.

I've had a fair number of freezes though, with both original firmware (1.0) and 1.11 "all mods 3". These have been fairly random, and during a variety of actions (loading video, or just navigating though screens).

Is this common, or am I doing something odd (with relation to the player - most of my actions are odd :p)
