Hi,

I am a developer at Rockbox and I'm interested in porting the Ainol V2000SE
(for those who don't know Rockbox: it's an open source replacement firmware).

I know the V2000SE runs on the Ingenic Jz4740 and I've already documented a bit of the Chinachip firmware.

But to understand more about what is inside the V2000SE, I need some pictures of the player disassembled.
I already found this site, but it doesn't really have high resolution pictures and most part doesn't contain really interesting stuff.

What I need to know is if there are any other components in the player besides the SoC (-> Jz4740), so if someone could post some images of his/her player opened or could find some images that are already online, you could help me :)

I also know of this person named tomac who has done quite a lot of work to add custom stuff to the original firmware. Does someone know this person quite well and/or speaks Chinese? If so, could you ask him if he could help me a bit on getting more information about the player?

Thank you
mcuelenaere

P.S.: I also posted this on another site to get more people to see this, if someone was wondering..

nice to have you aboard and we will be very much interested in how this goes.
I have seen manya pic of this player opened but will need to look again and see what can be found

i really hope this can work as we have many players that use this chip

just a note, the players actually use the JZ4732 chip (30 series) and not the 40 series as previously thought

i really hope you can get this working. i know that porting a player is alot of work and would love to see this actually work
I am sure members here will be willing to help as much as possible

have you been to ingenics web site?? (i am sure you have)

i have tried to contact Tomac before with no success but i will try again, he is active in the imp3 forums and to PM him you will need to sign up for an account, my account is playing up at the moment so cant log in or contact

good luck with all this
ps. removed link to other site as they are a competitor - thanks

Are you sure the Ainol V2000SE doesn't use a Jz4740?

I read on some sources (will find links) that it does have a Jz4740 (I even found some pictures of it some time); but I could be wrong.

I'll correct the mistake regarding Chinachip & RK2706

edit: in the firmware there are strings which contains this:
"JZ4740-IPU" & "CODEJIPU"

how do you turn the "Watch topic" function on for individual topics? I only found an option in the CP which enables it for all newly created topics.

it wa commonly believed at the beginning the the 40 was used but soo found out that all the ingenic players to date actually use the 32 chip

if you look at the images you linked to you will see 32 on this chip

This picture is from an Onda 747, not an Ainol V2000SE.

edit:

I just found out the V2000SE is indeed a Jz4732... :(

Untill now all the players that have been using the Ingenic chipset have been JZ4732 chips, i actually believe that untill recently, the JZ4740 chip wasn't even in mass production.

The Onda VX767 is the first to use the JZ4740 chip and i do believe that the newer layers that use the ingenic chipset that all have TV-Out, cameras, wifi etc will be based on the JZ4740 chipset.

You can find some good pictures of the internal hardware of the VX767 here:

mcuelenaere: you should also contact me, i am all for development on these players, i think their quite robust and the actual chips running them are being under utilized. We have some junk or semi defective players just lying around that i haven't got around to throwing away, i can send you one of a JZ4732 chip player and a Rockchip RK2706 for you to mess around with. Just email me at admin@mp4nation.net.

Could someone give me some detailed info what USB gives when you either start an Ainol V2000SE holding the Next button or an Onda VX747 holding the Menu button (both seems to bring them into Ingenic's USB boot mode, I'm not sure about the Next-button on the V2000SE)?

(I especially need someone with a VX747 to confirm this, as I'm probably going to buy this player)

If you're on Windows, take a print screen like here;
if you're on Linux/Mac OS X: do a "lsusb".

Thanks

V2000SE run on JZ4732.

JZ4732 = JZ4740+(secret Usb Boot Code in CPU)

Hi tomac,

as I understand you are the Chinese Ainol V2000SE user who uncovered the Chinachip firmware layout and even put custom code on it?

Could you contact me at mcuelenaere _AT_ gmail *DOT* com? (PM's in this forum aren't allowed apparently)

With "secret USB Boot Code in CPU", are you referring to the USB rescue mode which is provided by Ingenic? (see the Rockbox wiki for more information, specifically usbboot-v1.3.zip)

Thank you

-------

usb tools release by INGENIC.INC can't work with V2000SE.

therer have some diffence beteen INGEINC driver and factory's driver release.

so i can't write PC's patch code for V2000SE.
