Teen favourite (maybe?) Hannah Montana, aka Miley Cyrus has got her own branded Sony Walkman E-Series out at the end of the week. It's a Sony & Disney collaboration and only a true cynic could say that the jewelry box gimmick's not just a little bit nice, right? It also comes with a branded case and some bits of card that seem to say "Make It Rock". More pics and details after the jump. Via Pocket-Lint Discuss on the forum. The E-series Walkman features a 2-inch QVGA colour screen, FM radio, 4GB capacity, 30 hours of music playback and costs £99 ($156).

Logitec XY Technique iPhone/Walkman Microphone

July 31, 2009 by Tom in Accessories with No Comments.

New mics aren't scarce but few are quite as interesting looking as Logitec’s LIC-WMREC03P (for Sony Walkmans) and LIC-iREC03P (for iPods). The speaker crossing is apparently the XY technique of placing two mics together pointing in different directions, giving excellent field separation while eliminating phase problems. The speakers have a frequency response of 20Hz to 16kHz, 3.5mm and USB inputs and a pair of wind socks for al fresco recording. They will be out in Japan in January and will cost about $84.   The Sony Walkman hits its thirtieth birthday today and in a fitting tribute Gizmodo have put together their top ten designs. Sony “Zapp-In” New App To B-Series Walkman

June 16, 2009 by Tom in PMP with 1 Comment.

Sony Japan have announced their latest in the long line of B-Series Walkmans, the NWZ-B142F. The latest addition to the series comes with their new ZAPPIN feature which allows you to select tracks while it plays five-second clips from the middle of each one. As well as ZAPPIN, Sony's 26-gram PMP comes with 2GB of onboard memory, a three-line monochrome LCD display and an FM radio with 30 presets, voice and radio recording, an equalizer, 18 hours of playback and a three-minute “quick charge” that give you 90 minutes of jogging, commuting or just plain old sitting, depending on your lifestyle. For anyone who's used Sony PMPs before, the best thing about this player is the drag-and-drop over USB file transfer which does away with their infuriating SonicStage and Connect software. [Vi
