The Visture V1, the engineering sample pictured above, is a pretty well-spec'ed tablet. It's got a 9.7-inch display (1024 x 768) with capacitive touchpanel, runs Android 2.2 and has an ARM Cortex-A9-based CPU (the brand still unknown) as well as 512MB RAM and 8GB internal flash storage. Pretty beefy specs - one wonders if it is using the Amlogic solution. Supposedly this tablet can last for up to 10 hours on battery life which is a very impressive claim, though the battery size has not yet been made known. At just 590g, it's lighter than the iPad 2. Dimensions: 239.7 x 186.8 x 12.5mm. Image of the back side after the break.

In all this media hype of tablets and pads and MIDs, it's easy to lose track of the tech which arguably started this all: the lowly, simple MP3 player. ONN are releasing a new one, following a string of brightly coloured players that have emerged from other brands in recent times. The ONN MP3 player looks just like a USB stick, is roughly the same size as a USB stick and - what do you know - can double as a USB stick. That there is something fairly cool. It's got a tiny display, tiny buttons, comes in a tiny size (2GB). The screen is a 1.1-inch monochrome OLED, and the MP3 player handles the standard file formats like WMV, WAV, ASF and MP3. Also is an FM radio tuner.

Photographed with frost is the European Owen V1 audio player, a fairly neat but potentially flimsy player that comes with 2GB of onboard memory and seven EQ modes.
The player has a 1.1 inch monochrome screen and uses the Actions 2111L audio chip for its 10 hours of playback and FM radio.
