Newman's latest Newsmy PMP, the F6, comes loaded with a 5 megapixel camera.
Whatever pictures or movies you shoot will be displayed on the 3 inch TFT flat panel LCD touch screen which can be jabbed at with the accompanying Lanyard pen.
The player supports RM, MRVB, FLV, MPG, DAT, AVI, MP4, WMV, 3GP, ASF etc. on the video side and audio support comes in the form of MP3, WMA, OGG, APE and FLAC. Other features include the regular built in speaker, FM radio and games.
Cased in a die-cast steel shell, it's the KSD G6 PMP.
Manufactured using a zinc alloy die casting process produced by Seiko, the solid G6 promises to withstand drops, compression, scratches and fading.
This comes at a cost with the unit being slightly heavier on the pocket than comparable machines but it could offer better protection to the 4 inch 480x272, 16.7million color TFT screen.
The G6 supports RM, RMVB, AVI, WMV, 3GP, DAT, VOB, ASF, FLV and most audio formats as well as APE/FLAC Lossless music format. It has built in PlayFX support as well as TF card expansion slot, FM radio, e-book support and photo browsing.
Here's a first look at the 8GB Blue Morning BM-996HD from China.
Not quite pocket sized, it sports a 7 inch TFT screen which displays at up to 720p (1280 x 720).
As well as supporting the usual video formats (MP4, AVI, RM, FLV etc.) and music, it also doubles as an e-book reader that supports playing MP3s while you read.
Soundwise Microsoft Play FX is supported with 3D surround and FM radio is thrown in to boot.
Expansion comes in the form of a TF card (128MB – 4GB) and it is powered by a lithium-ion battery (which will hopefully last through a movie or two at the highest resolution).
