Tainell 10-Inch Tablet Out Of China

July 27, 2010 by HS in Tablet with No Comments.

Another one joins the fray. This tablet from Tainell features a 10-inch touchscreen, is powered by an Intel Atom Z series processor, packs an SSD for internal storage, is roughly 14mm thick and runs the Windows 7 OS. Also it is supposed to be able to have roughly 10 hours of video playback which seems optimistic at this point (and like marketing hype). That's all that's been reported at the moment from this 10-inch beast which is certainly looking grand. The powerful internals and Windows 7 OS means this tablet has the potential to expand its usefulness outside of casual web browsing but is sure to have a price reflective of that. Atom Based Tainell T500 MID’s Swish New Keyboard & Upgrade

The virtual keyboard on the Tainell is pictured above and as you can see, has taken on a new decidedly circular style. If it manages to be functional this could be another selling point to the already hot looking MID. When it was announced back in September it ran on a 1.1GHz Intel Atom Z510 processor. This has since been upgraded to 1.33GHz or 1.6GHz variants and the OS has been knocked up to Windows 7 or Moblin options. Optional upgrades also include the 0.3MP webcam ramping up to 1.3MP, 1GB RAM to 2GB and upping the 32GB SSD to 64GB. The screen’s a 5 inch WSVGA touchscreen and it comes with GPS, WiFi, Bluetooth and 3G. Prices and dates are still, however, ellusive. via pocketables

Another potential gem from China comes in the form of the Tainell T500, their latest high spec Intel Atom-powered effort. The T500 runs Windows XP on a 1.1GHz Atom Z510 processor and has 1GB of RAM. Within the 6.1” x 3.5” x 1.0” shell lies the 5 inch touchscreen which runs at the impressive resolution of 1024 x 600. Also onboard is a 23GB SSD, VGA webcam, WiFi, Bluetooth, GPS and 3G. On top of all that there's also USB and miniUSB ports, audio in and out jacks and an HDMI output port.   [Via Pocketables]
