RAmos T12 5.0″ – RK2806 with MKV Support Video Review

Well i did upload this video last week, but totally forgot to announce it. The RAmos T12, which uses the RK2806 media chip is quite a good player, although the UI is slightly different from what we have been accustomed to its still has the feel of a RK2706 player but with a lot better video playback. This is so far the only player i have got MKV file to work on, although the video playback isn't smooth, however AVI and RMVB files play very well. The small scroll wheel could have been designed better, it feels like something off a old radio, a very thin and rough wheel, that doesn't feel comfortable on the finger. The scroll wheel does interact well with the UI, it even allows for a bit of dynamic scrolling for music. Overall a very good player, good for video and audio playback, the RA

RAmos T12 (TNT) Gets briefly video demod

Much like RAmos did with their T9, RAmos has given us yet another teaser preview at their new T12 player. This player will use the new Rockchip RK2806 chipset, which is being billed as the uber powerhouse media chip, capable of playing videos in 1080i and MKV format (with even DTS decoding). Well, what the ads say and what it can do, can be quite the opposite, especially with shady China marketing. Something we can get from the video is that it (thankfully) loads fast, much faster than the normal CC1600 player. The scroll wheel looks to work well, but there seems to be no sort of dynamic/kinetic scrolling, so it looks like you will be turning that scrolling wheel quite a lot to get through you long list of audio and video files. The player is to have a 5.0" 800 x 480 resolution scree

RAmos ‘Terminator’ T12 takes a page out of Blackberrys book

RAmos has announced their new line of 'Terminator' players (much like Ainol 'Transformers' line of players), the Terminator line looks to be using the new Rockchip RK2806 chipset, their newest generation of high resolution (1024x720 res) media chips. The T12 will incorporate a thumb wheel, the sort that is commonly found on Blackberry devices,  which (we hope) if implemented correctly will give a better control over the user interface, even more so than the current touch screen MP4 players on the market. However at this point (and know how Chinese makers can be) its only speculative on how and what part of the UI the thumb wheel would control (god i hope its not just for volume!). Te T12 also has some other very notable characteristic, it will have a 5.0", 800 x 280 resoluti
