The Sony Tablet S is that 'folded magazine' shaped tablet that raised anticipation amongst many from the smooth and mysterious commercials, and general hype over it and its partner: The Sony Tablet P A.K.A the 'Clam shell'. It was only a matter of time before someone, somewhere decided to pry open the new Sony Tablet S and spill its guts for all to see. Well we have our man website: TechRepublic. The Sony Tablet S, which we have extensively been covering, was easily dissected - only two screws were needed to be unscrewed in order to remove the back. Android tablets aren't really meant to be opened up that easy, let alone opened up at all. The open Tablet S revealed its 500mAh battery that looked replaceable, and while Sony are currently offering a WiFi only version, there's clearly space for a 3G or 4G card - potential hacking grounds? Find out more about the Tablet S' internal hardware, as well as descriptions of all the different chips from the following site.

After many months of teaser trailers and update blogs, we can finally say that the Sony tablets, previously dubbed the S1 and S2 and more recently officially named the Sony Tablet S and the Sony Tablet P, has officially been announced at the current IFA 2011 event in Berlin. The two interestingly shaped Android tablets will have its Europrean launch in the next couple of months - the Sony tablet S by the end of September and the Sony Tablet P for November. More on that and the tablets including specs after the break.
The Sony Tablet S - an asymmetrical 'folded magazine' looking tablet that has more recently been compared to the iPad 2 (yikes!) - comes in a few different models with different prices to match. The WiFi only model costs 479 Euros for the 16GB version, and 579 E
Sony's two new Android tablets - the S1 and S2 - have now been given official names, but to be honost they're nothing to run home about. The S1 - the 10-inch traditional looking tablet is now called the Sony Tablet S, and the S2 - the dual 5.5-inch screen tablet that closes in half and was awesomely dubbed 'the clamshell' is now called the Sony Tablet P. Whoop-de-doo... The Sony Tablet S may have at least some relevance to its name from their model name, however 'Sony Tablet P' can only be linked to possibly having the P stand for 'Portable', seeing as it is the more portable of the two. Either way, to comment again, they're not the most exciting of names which is a shame because we find the tablets themselves to be rather cool and exciting.

Sony have come out with a new Walkman MP3 player/earphone set for their W series. It is a one-piece set that is also sweat resistant and designed to be used during a workout. No annoying wires, a round-the-head clasp, resistant to sweat - they sound like a pretty perfect accessory for the gym, if you ask me. And that's not all. The MP3 - titled NWZ-W 260 - also features easy drag-and-drop file transfer, a quick 3-minute charge time, a battery life of around 8-hours, and the player is also endorsed by US Olympic silver medalist, Meb Keflezighi. The set comes in either black or white and with 2GB or 4 GB (black only for 4GB).

Whilst waiting for the next Sony S1 and S2 mystical teaser trailer to come, we've got here the actual Sony tablets held with actual hands, Italian hands for that matter! The two tablets - both sporting NVIDIA's Tegra 2 dual-core processors and Android 3.0 Honeycomb OS have reached the office of Notebook Italia, who has also managed to take a quick hands-on video of the S1. Read more and check out the video after the break.
The S1 with its Android Honeycomb OS and Swift web browser sports a custom UI, whereas the S2, also with the same OS, comes with an e-Book-like custom UI that works with its dual 5.5-inch screen. Both tablets are Playstation certified (we would assume so) and also comes with DNLA support - gaming is certainly going to be a much used feature with these tabs. Curr
Sony has just released a second teaser trailer showing off their upcoming S1 and S2 tablets in a dark and dream-like manner. Perhaps a little creepy, but definitely artistic, the two odd but interestingly shaped tablets have certainly been represented in an odd... and interesting way. More on the trailers, plus the tab's first teaser trailer after the break.
Despite their arty-fartyness, the teasers lets you scope out what these tablets will look like in the flesh, and shows you how the clam-like S2 opens (and shuts), revealing its dual 5.5-inch displays. You'll also be able to notice the 'subtle' hint at the folded magazine shape of the S1 with... folded magazines and paper. The above video, titled "Two Will" focuses more on the S2, whereas the first teaser trailer for the new So
According to a leaked internal note from Sony, we could be expecting the Sony S1 and S2 to hit European shelves come September. Although the S1 and S2 are not confirmed to be the tablets referred to in the note, it did highlight the timeline for unnamed tablets that have 'unique design features', and will stack up well against the iPad - the S1 being the tablet that most resembles the shape of an iPad. The leaked note that was shown to the people of Engadget speak of pre-orders for the tablets to start in August and will ship by the end of September, reaching the UK first. We've blogged about the S1 and S2 before, and can fully agree that they have 'unique design features' - the S1 looking like a folded back magazine and the S2 looking like a clamtab that could feautre in the next Disney
Sony have announced that they will be releasing two new Android 3.0 Honeycomb tablets into the market come Autumn this year. Both will run Android 3.0 Honeycomb, be powered by NVIDIA's Tegra 2 processor and will come with WiFi and 3G connectivity. The first - the S1 - is a 9.4-inch tablet that seems pretty solidly built if not a little thick. The second - the S2 - is the dual 5.5-inch screen tablet that we blogged about before, but instead runs Honeycomb OS as opposed to the previously stated Windows 7. The S2 also has a screen resolution of 1024 x 480, and both models will feature Sony's Qrio Video and Audio VoD service as well as be Playstation Suite ready, so it can play PS1 games on the go. There's no more specs out yet, but we're hoping for more soon. You can check out a video that
It was last week when Engadget seeped out a leak about Sony working on an Android tablet with PlayStation integration and multimedia features. The same source now claims that Sony may be working on two other devices - a dual 5.5-inch tablet that runs Android 3.0 Honeycomb and a Windows 7 tablet with a slide-out keyboard. The dual-screen tablet that's dubbed the S2 is said to resemble a cylinder when closed - kind of like in the above image (although I'm sure that's the blueprints for a glasses case). Like the Kyocera Echo, this tablet is able to run different features on each screen such as mail inbox in one and an open message in the other. The tablet is also said to be powered by a NVIDIA dual-core Tegra 2 processor, WiFi and 3G connectivity and a front and rear camera. Price wise -
