Sony's latest venture into PMPs has been tried and tested by Engadget and has received a positive, if a little tepid, response.

The accidental listing of the Sony S-Series Walkman on French retail site Materiel has shed some more light on the specs and looks.
The 8GB NWZ-S544 and 16GB MWZ0S545 feature a 2.4-inch QVGA widescreen display, stereo speakers, a microphone, FM tuner, a Li-ion battery that offers up to 42 hours or audio or 6.5 hours of video as well as the nifty built-in stand to watch it on.
Support includes MP3, non-DRM AAC, WMA, H.254, MPEG4 and WMV. The prices in Euros are for the 8GB model and 149 for the 16GB.
