Following their budget $200 netbook, value-hounds NorhTec have set their sights on tablet PCs and come up with the Info Pad. Still in development, the 8.9 inch touchscreen tablet has a 1GHz Xcore86 processor and runs on rechargable AA NiHM batteries. The Duros 8404 rugged Tablet PC looks made for outdoors in its bump-ready shell but the latest model seals the deal with its 8.4 inch SVGA resistive touchscreen. Not just any old touchscreen, the LED sunlight-viewable display with 120-degree viewing angle increasing the brightness threefold from previous models. The update is also the first to be powered by Intel's 1.1GHz Atom processor which is housed in the solid aluminium chassis along with the non-rotating disc drive. [Via Gizmowatch]
