Tabco Likes “Swipe” And Megan Fox

July 25, 2011 by Alex in Other with 1 Comment.

Another clue linking Tabco with Nokia comes from a Facebook update. That's right, Tabco are at it again with the uber cool urban viral marketing. On Facebook, they have liked and commented on a randomer's status update of the word "Swipe", Tabco replying with "We like that word :)". However, it is not evident whether they actually button 'liked' the update - maybe saying 'like' is the new button 'like'? More about Megan Fox after the break. How does liking the word 'Swipe' hint at a Tabco/Nokia relationship? Swipe is the key system on Nokia's MeeGo OS that was shown at the Nokia N9 presentation. This also applies to the N9/N9650 Harmattan UI on MeeGo. That's how. Now, what's all this about Megan Fox? Tabco have been found to comment on another Facebook user's statement asking whet

Nokia Tab Sighted On MeeGo Dev Page

January 24, 2011 by HS in Tablet with No Comments.

This image was recently spotted on bugs.meego.com - is it the tablet that was leaked in the recent film TRON: Legacy? We can't tell the sizing from this image - could be 10-inches or 7-inches. The snaps from the film TRON would suggest closer to 10, though. Perhaps a video will soon turn up of this thing in a fast-food chain's parking lot. Either way, we can't wait until this thing is likely debuted at MWC 2011 in Barcelona next month. via tablet-news

Non-Smartphone Nokia E7 Clone

January 18, 2011 by Alex in Phone with 2 Comments.

Nokia's E7 - a capacitive smartphone with slide-out keyboard - has yet to be released, but that hasn't stopped a clone popping up. The display size is 3.5 - smaller than the E7's 4-inches, and would most probably be resistive. It runs on an MTK processing chip, and has WiFi connectivity - but no Android OS - this is no smartphone. Throw in an FM radio function and an affordable price (USD$100) and you've got yourself a simple yet good looking clone. The slide-out keyboard looks alright, and we wonder how well it works. via clonedinchina

Video: Nokia N900 Running Android

August 27, 2010 by HS in Phone, Video with No Comments.

Though the project (NITdroid) is as yet far from complete, the port of Android to the Nokia N900 is certainly seeming promising, and soon will offer users, when finally released, the chance to choose between Android or the Maemo operating systems. This port so far allows you to make phone calls, which again is a sign of good things to come. What's more is that the operation and smoothness of Android on the N900 seem without hitch or anything noticeable to complain about. In fact it all looks quite snappy. Sometimes too snappy, oddly. via ubergizmo

Nokia N8 Clone w/ Android 2.1: Running On RK2818?

August 4, 2010 by HS in Phone with 1 Comment.

This is the iZiNN CJ-3, a Nokia N8 clone. What is remarkable about it is not only that it is running on Android 2.1 (making it a very up-to-date clone phone), but it is apparently powered by a Rockchip chip. It has been reported that it runs on an "RK28" chip - but if it runs Android 2.1, surely it can't be the RK2808 chip, the one we've seen in APads and other Android-based MIDs that all run Android 1.5 - that's all the RK2808 can handle. If this clone phone really does run Android 2.1, perhaps it carries the much anticipated RK2818 chip, the one that is rumoured to be clocked at 1GHz and is Android 2.1/2.2 capable. Either way, we'll just have to wait and see as most of the tech specs have not been unveiled. What other specs have been though are a 3.5 wvga capacitive touchscreen, a 5-me

Nokia N7 Clone: Nokla N8

May 7, 2010 by HS in Phone with No Comments.

So the cloners keep on cloning, and the rather attractive Nokia N8 phone was bound to be cloned some time. It was just a matter of time. This clone, titled the "Nokla N8" - Nokla is probably one of the best known clone-brands you can get in Shenzhen - resembles the Nokia N8 in all facets on the outside, but on the inside it is just some fairly ordinary stuff. You'll get 3.2-inches at 240x320 resolution, Java, FM radio, two cameras front and back (and no information on resolution) for around $72 USD. Your own verdict. via M8Cool

Nokia 6790: Codename Mako

June 2, 2009 by Tom in Tablet with No Comments.

The Nokia Mako (6790 to use its less snappy title) has been unveiled. The design of the QWERTY smartphone appears to be one of an acquired taste and looks set to divide people who love it or hate it. The Mako is being touted as an 'affordable' smartphone optionĀ and so far we know it will have a 2.4 inch display which should display a 240 x 320 pixel resolution and support 16 million colors. In addition it will have HSDPA, EDGE, multi-tasking capabilities, A-GPS with GPS key, media player, Bluetooth 2.0 and an expandable memory slot.
