The Meizu M9 is supposedly getting a Gingerbread 2.3 update before the end of this month, according to M8 Cool. Not only that, but there are some pretty impressive Quadrant benchmark scores from the 2.3 update to the M9, images of which you can see after the break. To refresh your memory, the M9 is a viable Galaxy S / iPhone competitor – at the very least in China, and certainly you can’t rule out internationally – with its 3.5-inch capacitive touchscreen with a resolution of 960 x 640 and runs Android 2.2, to go along with a 5-megapixel camera capable of 720p HD video recording. It’s powered by the same processor as the Galaxy S – the Samsung S5PC110 and runs Android 2.2.

The recent launch of the Meizu M9, a very good Android handset that has made a name for itself amongst the big boys, drew thousands upon thousands of willing and, ultimately, waiting expectant customers. To be sure, the excitement is justified - the M9 is a stud of a smartphone, experiencing incredible levels of hype as the M9 release gradually grew closer before a redesigned site was all that was needed to reveal an impending launch and immediate availability. The recently released Meizu M9 (and recently redesigned rewebsite) has been getting a lot of buzz, mostly because it is a viable iPhone / Galaxy S competitor, featuring impressive hardware internals (the same processor as the Galaxy S), Android 2.2, a customised UI and an elegant aesthetic that is bound to draw eye contact from even the most stubborn of spitefuls who refuse to give you the satisfaction by stealing a glance. After the break are hands on videos of the M9 in operation, from a look at the phone's exterior to its menu operation, customised UI, multitouch image viewing and 1080p video playback. All looking stellar, and in keeping with Meizu's sleek image. To refresh your memory on this smartphone's specs: an ARM Cortex A8-based Samsung S5PC110 powers this phone, the same chip
Meizu's M9 Android smartphone has now been released, and in good time for the closing-in winter holiday. The smartphone is powered by the ARM Cortex A8-based Samsung S5PC110, the same chip that is used by the Samsung Galaxy S. It has a 3.5-inch capacitive touchscreen with a resolution of 960 x 640 and runs Android 2.2 with a customised Android UI. It's connectivity includes GSM, GPRS, EDGE, WCDMA, HSDPA, HSUPA, WIFI and WAPI. It also supports Bluetooth 2.1. It supports a standard range of video (AVI, MP4, 3GP, MOV, MKV, FLV) and audio (FLAC, APE, MP3, OGG, etc) files, as well as a high-res image viewer, or, take some images of your own on its 5-megapixel CMOS camera that also supports 720p HD recording. Part of the appeal of the M9 is the work they've put into making it a viable media p
Snaps of Meizu M9 UI have surfaced and we must say that it is looking sharp. Sporting a customised Android UI, the M9 takes the cake as far as impressive Android customisation goes with their no-nonsense approach to the UI. More images after the break... and these images are worth more than a thousand of my vapid words.

Its speculated that Meizu will be releasing the M9 and there have been rumors to what hardware the phone will pack inside. Although the above picture may just be a very well made fan rendering, it does look pretty good.I am pretty interested in the M9, the M8 has got steady improvements and has quite a nice UI, even its own app store and even now the firmware is still considered to be in development.
