Love Charm’s New Ampe CT-3100 HD

November 8, 2010 by Alex in PMP with No Comments.

This CT-3100 HD player is Love Charm's latest "charm" PMP. It has a 3.6-inch, 16:9 screen which makes this little dude fit for holding in the palm of your hand.  It has a resolution of 800 X 480 in it's low-temp polysilicon LTPS LCD screen as well as a dual-core CPU that can support a multi-format video decoder of 720p. With a stainless steel shell and 4GB of internal memory, this little guy seems to be a juicy pocket-sized HD player that looks pretty neat and runs pretty decently and comes in white or black, both with a scroll-er fitted on the front. Not much else to say really, although why try when the product is as simple and compact as the CT-3100. However, there is more to read about other Ampe PMP's which are also as simple, compact and neat. via imp3

Hello Newman A16HD & Friend

August 27, 2009 by Tom in Newsmy, Player Babed Out, PMP with No Comments.

The latest from Chinese camp Newman/Newsmy is the A16HD, a 16GB HD PMP that offers TV-Out at 1080I/768 decoding and has a slick-looking PSP style interface (pic after the break). For viewing on the go there's the 5 inch, 16 million colour LTPS (low temperature polysilicon display) 800 x 480, 16:9 widescreen display which supports RM, RMVB, AVI, FLV, MP4, VOB, MOV, 3GP, MPG and DAT formats. Audio support comes in the no surprises guise of MP3, WMA, OGG, WAV and APE & FLAC lossless formats, all playable through the onboard speaker. If that's not enough there's also built-in power management, a text reader and a few games to boot. All in all, a pretty impressive looking piece of kit and a slightly cheaper 8GB version is also available. [Via Zol]

The Latest HD Newman PMP – A13

July 10, 2009 by Tom in PMP with No Comments.

Chinese workhorses Newman are back again, this time with their HD A13 PMP. The 5-inch, 16 million colour ,800 x 480 LTPS touchscreen runs is 16:9 widescreen and supports 720p HD playback as ell as RM, RMBV, AVI and FLV formats. The A13 also comes with a good old fashioned infra-red remote control that could be handy when using the video out (with the output quality apparently comparable to DVD). Other features include the regular audio supports and TTS (Text To Speech) which reads out text files (unfortunately we've not heard the inevitable comedy robot voice that'll no doubt accompany it). The A13 comes in 8GB and 16GB sizes.   [Via Zol]

Ainol V3000 Review and Video comparison vs VX767 vs S:Flo

September 3, 2008 by Raz in Ainol, PMP, PMP Review with 2 Comments.

I got a sample of a Ainol V3000, 8GB version, the box itself if much like that of other Ainol players, so nothing really special there, apart from the very bad Engrish they have on the back, i am assuming a automatic translation program was used, its even more strange as they have the player description in Engrish and only the player specs in Chinese, i guess it's Ainols way of poshing this up. Well it looks like this can play OGG files, something that many of the new players haven't been supporting, but i do think more and more RK2706 chip based player are now coming out with this file support. The players overall finishing is very nice, but it feels a bit boxy, also one side is heavier to the other making the player to feel somewhat unbalanced, my best guess is that the battery i
