Why yes, yes it is. It appears that iRiver - a company we've blogged many times over about their MP3 and MP4 players - have stepped out of the darkness they seemed to of been hiding in, holding on to an Android tablet of their own. They haven't necessarily gone all out with their introduction into the tablet market - the iRiver tablet uses a 1GHz Samsung Hummingbird processor, has WiFi and Bluetooth (2.1) connectivity and runs Android 2.2 as its OS. And I'm sure its other specs are similar to other tablets of the same ilk. The tablet was actually spotted on a Korean blog (even though the above image was taken in China), however there's no word on pricing or availability, but we can assume it will be fairly priced.

With the amount of devices that can multitask now-a-days, it's great to see that companies are still coming out with a device that focuses on one main task. The iRiver T9 is not one of those devices. It is titled an MP3 player, but one that comes with many other functions, whilst having its supposedly main function - playing MP3 audio files - rather limited to only 2GB or 4GB. The T9 can also act as a USB storage unit and can be plugged directly into your computer via its slide-out USB 2.0 connector. You can also plug it into your speaker's USB port (given it has one) in order to play music straight from the player. Moving on from the music side of things, the T9 will track your calorie intake, as well as distance ran/walked. It is also an FM radio and voice recorder. However, quite po
Last week the P100 IPS was launch-imminent, and it appears now that the player has been officially launched, with some pretty great show-off animations over at iriver.co.kr. The P100 IPS has a 5-inch 800 x 400 IPS display, and appears to be an all around winner, with great video format support (full HD 1080p video playback), an interesting and great-looking UI, and of course coming with a WiFi version presumably to allow access to iriver's online media store. Both the WiFi and non-WiFi editions come in both 16GB and 32GB flavours, with a 64GB version coming out in February. MicroSD expansion means you can add an extra 32GB on top of that. More specs and some pretty snazzy images after the break.
Audio Support Files: MP3, WMA, OGG, FLAC, APE, WAV
Video support files: AVI, MKV, MP4,
The official launch of iriver's latest PMP offering, the P100 IPS, is imminent. With the tag line "Ultimate Study Player", the 5-inch full 1080p HD MP4 player is looking very cool with, as the naming might suggest, presumably an IPS (In Plane Switching) LCD display panel. It looks as if the P100 IPS will have what is called a "Space UI" user interface design, but from the teaser shots above we can't ascertain much. There will supposedly be HDMI-output and the P100 IPS will also come with WiFI connectivity - whether or not it will have a browser we do not know. It could be that the WiFi connectivity allows for connection to iriver's online music store. Battery life is touted at 12 hours of video playback and roughly 52 hours of audio playback - not bad at all, though the 12 hour estimate
Wait a minute... something is wrong here! This isn't what we normally do. Perhaps the Koreans are just more subtle than the Chinese, but while we were expecting the U100 to get some luscious, lavish babe, we instead got this rather dapper looking young gentleman across a variety of situations. An interesting marketing tactic - is the U100 aimed at females, with its bright coloured looks? Or have we simply become jaded by the blatant sexuality from the likes of Teclast and Cube that seeing representative marketing pics reduces us to babbling confusion? Read more about the U100 here, and see more of this bloke-out after the break.

The much anticipated Iriver has had the nature of its release clarified, and the previously hazy details about WiFi connectivity have not turned out to be false. The U100 models will be divided into two basic versions - one with WiFi and one without. The WiFi connectivity will allow for access to Iriver's own online music store, which means you'll be able to download music as you go, provided there's a hotspot. We're not sure if you can do tethering with this device, or if it can connect to a 3G-based WiFi hotspot that many phones can do. Interestingly, the non-WiFi version only comes in 4GB capacity while the WiFi-enabled version comes in either 8GB or 16GB capacity. Both models come with MicroSD expansion opportunity. Other specs include a capacitive 3.1-inch (320 x 480) touchpanel dis
Iriver recently teased an upcoming MP3/MP4 player lineup, and now we are treated to more teaser shots of their U100 unit, a positively stylish PMP that continues the sleek aesthetic that Iriver, among other things, is known for. It is now also being rumoured that the U100 will have WiFi in order to give it access to the Iriver online music store, but the details on this are hazy and seems large speculation. Also rumoured are 12 EQ presets. We wish we knew more, but we don't. A teaser shot of the UI after the break.

Iriver have released a teaser video showing off glimpses of their three upcoming PMPs: U100, P100 and D2000. The colour scheme is nice, and deviates away from the boring standards of either white, black or chrome, or variations of 3 mixed. To be sure, there is no hardware news on these things, or even sizing - everything you read will be speculation at this point, but we can't say that we're not excited to see how these players will be when they finally are released in 2011 in South Korea. Take a look at the revealing (not) video after the break.

iRiver are evidently taking a colourful approach to their new player release, the S100. Pictured above, you can see the emphasis on light shades of colour which I feel is a strategically sound aesthetic choice. The standard whites and blacks are starting to chip away at the consumer's collective patience for boring designs. Taking the image above like some sort of scale, from boring to less boring, the black and white exist at extremes of boring.
Terrible kidding aside, the iRiver S100 has a 2.83-inch 240x320 TFT LCD display and will support the standard audo file formats including MP3, OGG, APE, FLAC, APE etc. and will also be able to play video files up to 720x480 resolution of file formats AVI, MP4 and WMV. The player is light at around 77 grams. All in all, an interesting player
Looks like iRivers latest player will be running on wince. It seems to have quite a nice screen and is capable of 720p video playback, not bad for a device running WinCE. Not sure if this model will make its way out of Korea, but i wouldn't mind getting my hands on one.
