These bite-sized PMPs are iPod Nano clones, coming with 1.5-inch and 1.8-inch touchscreens! That's right... touchscreens. Perhaps they are made for ages 12 and under, those with nimble fingers... or perhaps you're supposed to use a stylus as thick as a needle. The seeming lack of navigation buttons also leads us to believe that these are touchscreen only... which could drive those with stubby fingers nuts... so probably not meant for the Western markets! The small device (screen resolution is likely to be 320x240) has also got a speaker and a card reader... the latter seemingly being a full on SD card reader rather than microSD. The belt clip is a nice touch, and the colours are bound to appeal to the easily distracted, but make no mistake - this PMP is much better suited as an audio p
Gizmodo have cast their judgement over the newest member of the iPod family in a series of videos and an indepth write-up.
To sum up they seem happy with it and the new camera does the job of any other standard definition camera would.
The biggest gripe is that it seems like another incremental upgrade, rather than something truely fresh and that the 8GB and 16GB models don't really cut it when a 32GB version is long overdue.

Over at Slippery Brick they've pitched the new Nano camera up against the Flip Ultra. The Flip won.

For those of us not too enamored with Apple's latest, here's the thing in bits.
“Have you got an iPod cable?” is a pretty common question these days. If they answer you give your friends with low battery is no then you should point them in the direction of the SendStation PocketDock, a nifty accessory that allows an iPod or iPhone to be charged via USB.
In addition to this is also has a 3.5mm output allowing you to plug in to your home stereo. It measures 7mm x 25.5mm and weighs 4 grams and costs $29.95.

Inside this inconspicuous Wiimote lies an iPod shuffle, forming a pretty interesting looking mod – a controller for the Nintendo wonder than doubles as an mp3 player.
The iPod Shuffle is in fact a fake Shuffle that has also been modified. And within THAT is...no, not really. The handywork is down to champion modder goteking.

iHome's portable media player headphones that double as an instant party when they're flipped open and the speakers get their amp power working. In theory. There's a lot of scope for them to fall into 'jack of all trades' territory though but for some mild music sharing they'll probably do the job.
Without being to pessimistic it's certain the iHMP5 headphones in speaker mode will rock the party, as long as there's no one speaking and if you live near traffic, the window's closed.

It's not just the fancy HD PMPs being given a run for their money, the iPod Shuffle still has contenders in its sights, most recently from Archos who have revealed their latest, the Clipper.
The French screenless DAP is a small assembly of buttons that fits 2GB of music on and offers a huge 11 hours of playback with a full charge.

The kings of sticking it to the big boys Belkin have just released a solution to those pesky ‘Apple-only’ iPod Shuffles.
Salvation comes in the form of their ‘headphone adaptor’ which costs $19.99.

When you stumble out of bed in the morning and head to the bathroom, wouldn't you like one of these waiting for you? Well, unfortunately she's not available but you can get the mirror with a touch screen console that controls the built in radio, clock, demister and should you have one, your iPod.
If you've a special bathroom song you've always wished you could listen to while in there now's your chance through Stocco of Italy.
Forum member Hotboxx has graced us with another video review, this time its of his new iPod nano 4th gen clone that he just got. It seems, that apart from the outer casing of the player, the unit itself is no different than that of the first gen clones, some hardware (most likely) and certainly the same UI (arg). Anyways it is quite a nice video with some nice music overlay, so check it out.
