Video: Samsung Galaxy Tablet

August 24, 2010 by HS in Tablet with 1 Comment.

The video above supposedly shows the Samsung Galaxy Tablet in operation in the wild. If we take the video to be true, taken on a train in Sydney, Australia, then it appears that the Galaxy will indeed be a 7-inch device as the previous rumours have quite rampantly speculated. The rumours have also said that this device will have a screen resolution of 800x480, commonplace for 7-inch devices, as well as be powered by a 1GHz CPU which is promising. It may run on Android 2.2; at the very least 2.1 is a given. via liliputing

MSI Windows 7 Tablet Specs

August 16, 2010 by HS in Tablet with No Comments.

MSI's Windows 7 tablet specs have been revealed. The 10.1-inch tablet will pack a capacitive touchscreen, an Intel Atom Z530 processor clocked at 1.6GHz, 2GB of RAM, a 32GB SSD, WiFi, HDMI-out. Impressive specs to say the least. It will run on the Windows 7 operating system and all in all is looking fairly swell. Price is expected to be at USD$500, but that has yet to be confirmed. Also yet to be confirmed is the release date or when this tablet actually starts shipping. via midbbs

Toshiba Libretto Keyboard Operation

You may all remember the Toshiba Libretto - in fact, you should remember it. This thing is a beautiful, powerful dual-screen device that just leaves me in an envious fury. Sized well (202x123x25.4mm / 699g), the Libretto packs impressive hardware specs: Intel Pentium U5400 @ 1.2GHz; 2GB RAM; 62GB SSD; Bluetooth & WiFi; WSVGA display; Windows 7... The video above shows off SmartQ's (SmartDevices) latest 7-inch MID/Tablet - the T7 /T7-3G (the only difference between them being 3G connectivity). The T7 is powered by a 720MHz ARM11 processor, a 7-inch 80-0x600 SVGA resistive touchscreen. It has 256MB RAM, 512MB ROM, a 4500mAh battery; it also can play 1080p videos which is impressive, and it runs on Android 2.1. All in all, a worthy successor to their 7-inch lineup. via clonedinchina

iiView M1 Touch 10-Inch Windows 7 Tablet

June 16, 2010 by HS in Other with No Comments.

Another Windows 7 tablet has popped up, this one the 10-inch iiView M1 Touch. This 10-inch tablet runs the Windows 7 OS on an Intel Atom N450 processor, with 2GB of RAM, a 250GB HDD as well as a 1.3-megapixel camera. The thing is sure to weigh close to a metric ton. Kidding aside, it does come in at around 1.5lbs which is, suffice it to say, annoyingly perched on the boundary that dinstinguishes portable from inconvenient. See more pictures of the large beast after the break. Also, I suppose we should all be used to the giant iPhone styling by now. [gallery columns="4"] via midbbs

iPed M16 10-Inch Tablet with Android 2.1

June 15, 2010 by HS in Android, Video with No Comments.

This 10.2-inch 1024x600 iPad clone tablet out of China, called the iPed M16, features something we haven't seen much on these clones: Android 2.1. We are accustomed to seeing previous versions of the Google OS, such as 1.5 or 1.6, but this tablet is apparently trying to feature the whole shebang, with a 1GHz ARM Cortex A8 processor, 256MB DDR2 RAM and an optional 3G module. The video above shows it in action. Certainly interesting for those looking for an iPad alternative larger than the various 7-inch MIDs we have been seeing. via pmptoday

Tablets Galore at Computex

June 2, 2010 by HS in Other with No Comments.

Computex news is starting to filter in by the truckload, and this interesting 10-inch device popped up. It is actually a fairly standard affair, but this tablet here is simply representative of the huge wave of interest that tablet devices have received in recent months. Many more tablets and MID's looking similar to this are cropping up at Computex and suddenly the future of tablet devices looks brighter than ever. Though history repeats itself - and we've had a tablet "phase" before - it is unlikely that this new push will just lay down and wither away, especially with the iPad's phenomenal success and the Asus EEEPad undoubtedly scaring Apple. With products like the APad, cheap and easy to make and being picked up by dozens of brands, affordable MIDs/tablets seem a future that is ne
