New Philips GoGear Connect Receives Gingerbread

Philips have come out with a new iteration of their GoGear Connect PMP/mini-tab and more than just the Android version has changed, though that is certainly the highlight of it all. From Eclair (2.1) to Gingerbread (2.3), the GoGear Connect receives the most up-to-date Android revision not-named Honeycomb (3.0). The GoGear Connect comes with access to the Android Market (WiFi connectivity but no 3G), comes in 8GB and 16GB flavours (with a 32GB supposedly incoming) and is scheduled to hit the shelves in September. Noticeably different from the last revision, this GoGear has lost its white skin colour and trackball, and now has a capcative touchscreen display (3.2-inch). Taking the place of the Opus for Philip's best in show is the GoGear Muse which is set for release in Singapore. The glossy player has a 3 inch display, 16GB of storage and playback support for all the major video and audio codings as well as getting BMP, GIF, PNG, OGG, APE, Real Video and Real Audio over its Opus counterpart.
