A firmware update brings PDF reading to the Rockchip RK-Widget 2.0 B33HDT player. This goes alongside 720p video playback, making it an impressive little player filled to the brim with functionality. And that's where it gets confusing. PDF reading capability is great, and hopefully we see it on other Rockchip devices that also happen to sport this Widget 2.0 system, such as the newer revision of Window G85 or the G89. However, the B33HDT carries a screen only 3.6-inches tiny... reading a PDF on that, especially without quick zooming ability (multitouch would be good here for pinch-zoom), would be nothing short of a miracle. You're not going to get through The Lord of the Rings with your eyes intact. On that note, I'm not sure if anybody gets through the Tolkein triple completely intact
Firmware revision 1208 is out for the Nationite MIDnite adding support for 3G dongles, a restart function in power settings and a return to factory default setting. Please see this thread on our forums for more information and download locations. Leave your comments on its performance as well, to better the future firmware development cycle.

A bit of a surprise to us, this new firmware fixes some small issues and improves the speed of the UI.
I know there are some people who have been trying to assume the factory does not care, its quite the opposite, they are listening to both my feedback and what they see here and SD, they are by no means done with developing the firmware, but they do ask to be patient as they roll out new firmware, they are now going to work on fixing one issue at a time and releasing updates as they progress
1) solved the TFT lCD on/off problem when power off
2) faster speed for display and UI

SmartQ has released a new firmware and they have done a near complete overhaul of the UI, one of the newest features is the players ability to sort music by artist, album, year, genre and favorites. Sere83 has done a video review of the new interface, check out the GBA emulation, seems the T5 can handle it pretty well.
