Gemei Announces A320 – Cute GBA/3D MP4 Game Player

October 2, 2008 by Raz in Gemei, PMP with No Comments.

So i just caught this little tid bit in a new press release Gemei released, looks like Gemei will be adding yet another gaming player, this time Gemei seems to have actually gone for a more traditional gaming machine design. There is little information about this player, but it is probably fairĀ  to assume that this player will be pretty much the same (internally) to that of the Gemei X760+. Expect this player to be running on an Ingenic JZ4740 (400mHz) chip, which will be capable of Gameboy Advanced emulation, 3D game emulation and other older console emulation like seag, NES and old aracde games. Gemeis only hint at price is that it will be cheap, they actually make the comparison on how the price and functionality of this player are far better than a Sony PSP, well i have a hard ti

First images of GamePark Wiz

September 2, 2008 by Raz in PMP with No Comments.

Engadget had these juicy images up on their site, seems like their Spanish language site was able to snap up some pictures of the real Wiz first hand. The deviceĀ  does look small and quite sleek and (as of now) comes in two different styles. Seems that the player won't be out till November due to a design flaw in the right control pad of the player. More pictures via Engadget

Gampark’s GP2X Wiz handheld – looks like the SmartQ T5-II

August 26, 2008 by Raz in PMP with No Comments.

Although Gampark GP2X Wiz looks similar to the SmartQ T5-II, the two are quite different. The Wiz has a 2.8-inch QVGA OLED screen, 533MHz ARM9 processor, 64MB of RAM, 16GB of flash, and 5 hour battery life -- not to mention a Flash 7 player, MPEG4, xViD and DivX compatibility. Like other GP2X machines, it will support homebrewed goodies and the Gampark is planning on releasing a new game every month for the unit. It should be out in October. Via Engadget

Gemei X760+ now supports Neo-Geo Games and CPS1 (old Capcom type arcade games)

August 17, 2008 by Raz in Gemei with 1 Comment.

The Gemei X760+ just got a little more cooler, a new optional download for this player will allow you to play Neo-Geo games (like Metal Slug) and CPS1 games (like Cadillac and Dinosaurs ). You can download these addons off Gemeis website, just extract the files and copy them to your games folder and restart your player. You do need to have updated to V1.2 firmware for these new addons to work. Gemei has also release another 3D game, it looks like an Alone In The Dark type of game, this can also be downloaded from the above link.

More possible renditions of Oppos new gaming player

August 5, 2008 by Raz in Oppo with No Comments.

Oppo has released what might be the first renderings of their new swivel screen game/mp4 player, i have to say the player does look quite nice, however no word on its gaming capabilities (most likely some sort of GBA/Neo Geo type game emulation) and if the screen will be touch based (which we really hope it is). SmartQ Releases cheaper version of their T5-II player – The LE

August 5, 2008 by Raz in SmartQ with 1 Comment.

SmartQ has announced a slightly downgraded, but cheaper priced, version of their ever popular SmartQ T5-II, dubbed the SmartQ T5-II LE, the player will only be missing the TV Out feature, apart from that, the player will use the same ADI chip and all other hardware and software (read emulation) capabiltiies. However the biggest difference between the two versions is in price, the LE will be priced almost RMB$200, about USD$30 cheaper than its TV Out touting counterpart. Although it isn't confirmed we also think that the LE probably won't support SmartQs wireless gamepad controller when it comes out, seeing how the wireless countroller was intended to be used in conjunction with the TV out, it would be pretty pointless to keep the wireless feature on a non tv out version. However if that

Gemei X760+ – Plays GBA and other 8/16/32bit game emulation

July 8, 2008 by Raz in Gemei with 2 Comments.

Gemei is coming out with a revamped version of their popular X760, the X760+, the two main differences is that this version will be using a new chipset at its core and will also have TV out. There is little information on what chip it will be using at its core, but looking at the low price, it might be fair to speculate that it isn't using the new Blackfin chip that the new SmartQ T5-II uses, but maybe a Rockchip or Ingenic (Chinachips) chipset. If it does use any of the two latter chips, then it would be the first MP4 player to roll out with built in game emulation capabilities. http://www.google.com/translate?u=http% ... h-CN&tl=en The specs for this player seem quite impressive, not only can you play the games on the player itself, but you can use the video out and play the
