The Android 1.6 installer for the Creative Zii Egg has been released today and demoed on video. There are a few bugs to iron out including the camera which doesn't work and visible code. While there may still be a long way to go every release is a step closer to a sweet Android contender. See the video at the link below. [Via Engadget]

The default browser for Creative's Zii EGG will be Opera due to its “Web application” platform which makes it developer-friendly, pushing further the built for developers ethos behind the EGG, as previously reported. The default OS is Plaszma but others (including Android) are available on the user's whim. [Via Anythingbutipod]

Not an Spectrum ZX game, just news that Creative have shed more light on their Zii Egg development platform. The PMP is geared toward developers building applications and entire user experiences out of the Zii Egg chips cell hardware that goes alongside Android and their own Linux based OS dubbed Plaszma. It looks to follow the phone-like natures of other PMPs but should the combination of Zii Egg and Android be a winner it could spell a more interesting PMP from Creative. [Via Anythingbutipod]
