This is Part 1 of a DeckhandDavy video review of the Fiio E9 desktop headphone amp, the very same we've just started stocking here at MP4Nation. If you are considering these, the video review is well worth the watch as DhD goes into detailed aspects of size, the lightness / ease-of-use of buttons and weight. These will obviously be of prime concern. To quote from the video description: "I have had it for a week now and from my initial testing, this little amp should cause quite a stir in the audiophile community!"

Fiio looks to make some 'slight' changes to their upcoming amps, frankly the new renderings show a far more slick design than what was previously released. Hopefully the real product will look as delicious (and sound as delicious) as they look in their renderings

The latest in the Cube i-Station series has been released.
The E9 has a 3 inch touchscreen and supports MP3, WMA, OGG, FLAC, APE audio formats and AVI, RM/RMVB, FLV, WMV, 3GP, MP, DAT video formats.
The design (admittedly helped by the marketing image) looks suitably slick and also onboard is a sound recorder, FM radio, G-sensor, picture browser, e-book reader and video output.
The E9 measures 92x54x13mm, weighs 60g and has a 700mAh LI-ion battery which supports 12 hours audio and 4 hours video playback.
4GB costs around $115 and the 8GB model will set you back around $132.
