FiiO E5 Headphone Amp - Nationite Edition
From my time with this little fella I've come to know it as one of those indispensable items that I can no longer do without.
It is a simple piece of kit that boosts the signal from the player to the headphones.
Sound
Whatever player you're using, you'll notice a difference with the E5 plugged in.
My initial concern was that it would colour the sound too much but from the off those fears were quashed.
As well as boosting the volume and all ranges, the most common complaint from headphones or IEMs is the lack of bass and the E5 takes care of
Well again not much of surprise here, as we work closely with Fiio we again have opted to get our own 'edition' of the very popular Fiio E5 portable amp. So whats the difference between the normal and the Nationite Edition, well nothing hardwarewise and very little cosmetically, we are just adding the 'Nationite Edition' logo to the front.
All our Fiio E5 from now on will be the special Nationite Edition version, we will have by the end of December (hopefully as early as the 25th) 500 of these in stock. They will share the same retail box and same retail accessories as the normal E5.

So they are in, Fiio sent out the first 200 units of the E5 to us on Wednesday and when i say first 200 units, i really do mean first 200, number 1 will remain with us here at MP4 Nation.
There really very little difference between the production version of the E5 and the sample that i got earlier, the most notable was that they gave a better and shorter cable.
It can't be said that Fiio doesn't listen to the feedback they get, they did also change the main power light from red to blue, making it easier to see if the unit is on or off.
Now i am not sure if this was a change between the samples or something to do with production of the sample, but the top and bottom white was a bit off white color, as opposed to the white which is in the production version which is a more ivory w
Fiio E5 now on sale - USD$24.50 (free worldwide standard airmail shipping) - in stock (hopefully) by December 5th and shipping then after.
I am happy to announce that you can now reserve an E5. This is a must have gadget for those that want a better sound from their headphones, although not recommended for all headphones, it will improve the audio quality of most headphones.
We are getting 200 units, hopefully they will arrive by next Friday and will start shipping out probably the following Monday - maybe even Saturday if they arrive by Friday morning.
Average delivery time (from when shipped) to most metropolitan areas will be 6 - 8 days, maybe sooner if your in like Singapore, Japan, Taiwan or Australia. Items sent by standard registered airmail, they will require a signatu
Fiio was very nice to send a sample of their new E5 portable amp, the E5 is the successor to their widely popular E3 amp, which we ourselves have in a special Nationite Edition. The sample just arrived and i personally have not had a chance to try it, i am letting it charge right now and then will commence with testing it, I will post a review shortly along with a video review of the product.
I can give my reaction to the packing and such, overall its very similar to that of the E3 packing, a little larger overall. The overall casing of the player is a very nice metallic case, well finished, light weight and quite stylish. I have charged the amp now and did find that the amp does indicate when the battery becomes fully charged.
We will be having these on our store, they will go on
Today i went down to the Autumn HKTDC Electronic convention show, i was informed by Fiio that they would also be attending and showing off their new E5 portable headphone amp, so i took some time to visit their booth and check out their new successor to their popular E3 headphone amp.

The above two images are taken from Fiios brochure after the convention, i was unable to snap a picture of the E5 that i was able to play with as photography is prohibited in such exhibition shows :(
Design:
Well, like probably many of you seeing the images, saw a stark similarity to the iPod Nano Shuffle, even the Fiio rep laughed at the similarities. Anyways, the overall design is quite nice, unlike the E3 which is has a plastic body, the E5 has a full metal body, b
