July 11, 2011 by Alex in Tablet, Windows Tablet with No Comments.

Leaked documents containing specs on Dell's upcomming 10-inch Windows 7 tablet has cropped up on a website called Dell Peju Insider. As these things go, the leaked specs are obviously unconfirmed ones and therefor should be taken lightly. But either way, they're the only thing to go by for now: the tablet is reported to be powered by an Intel Core i5 processor, have 4GB of RAM, an SSD with a stellar 64GB or 120GB of internal storage, and a 10.1-inch screen with a resolution of 1920 x 1080, meaning it can do 1080p video playback. Click after the break to read more. The website also mentioned that the tablet will be launched with Windows 7 professional, but will also be compatible with Windows 8 come the OS' release. There's even mention of a beta version to be ready by the end of t

Dell Plans To Slide Out With A New 7-Inch Tablet – With Slide-Out Keyboard

June 9, 2011 by Alex in Dell, Tablet with No Comments.

Dell already have a 5- and 7-inch Android tablet released and under their belt, and they've also announced that they will coming out with a 10-inch Windows and Andriod one. Now it seems that they are working on a newer 7-inch tab, however this one comes with a slide-out keyboard - although it's most probably still a Prototype. Slide-out keyboards on tablets is no new thing - we've got the Asus Eee Pad Slider and Samsung's Sliding PC 7 series - but what's different about Dell's one is that, unlike the others that fold into a makeshift laptop, the Dell tablet's keyboard slides straight out and flat. So you'll either have to hold on to the tab or rest it with the screen flat on the surface. The immediate thought of having to stretch your thumbs across a 7-inch tablet isn't a nice one, so cl

13 Of The Top Current Tablets Gets Ranked On Comparison Table

March 17, 2011 by Alex in Android Tablet, Other Tablet, Tablet, Windows Tablet with 4 Comments.

A comparison table that compares 13 of the best tablets on offer right now is putting them all into rank in an attempt to see which tablet comes out on top. The comparison table comes courtesy of tabletcommunity.de, and awards points (up to five) for several aspects such as form factor, display, CPU, storage, camera, connectivity and battery. These points are then totaled and coupled with the price of the tablet. These two factors depict where a tablet stands in the ranking. Check the tablet out after the break to see which tablet came out as No. #1. Although I'm pretty sure we've made that pretty obvious... The Motorola Xoom is the tablet to rank as No. #1. However, the table shows that it achieved the same amount of points as the Galaxy Tab 10.1 at 29 points, but came out on top

Leaked Dell Roadmap – Upcoming Tablets

February 17, 2011 by HS in Tablet, Windows Tablet with 1 Comment.

Dell has made it clear that they hope to expand their tablet line up this year, including a 10-inch Android model and a Windows 7 model. The good folks over at Android Central have gotten their hands on a leaked slide that reveals a little information on what the company has planned for the following two years. It looks like they have a tablet running Android 3.0 Honeycomb due out in April, a 10-incher code-named "Gallo". This could be the 10-inch Android model we've heard about before. Also it looks like there will be a new 7-inch tablet that will also be running Honeycomb - whether this will step into the Dell Streak 7's place, or be a higher-end alternative is yet to be made clear. This new 7-inch Honeycomb tablet is referred to as "Sterling". For the Windows tablet we've heard a

Dell Tablet – K08T – Gets FCC Treatment

February 11, 2011 by Alex in Tablet with No Comments.

Dell’s convertible tablet - the K08T has recently passed through FCC and gained their approval for its WiMAX functionality. Because of this, the tablet could very well be taken on by Sprint as the carrier’s have 4G WiMAX service throughout the US. The Tablet also has a full keyboard as well as what appears to be a swivelling screen of 12-inches (measured diagonally). Could the K08T be the WiMax version of Dell’s XT3 convertible tablet? You tell me. via ubergizmo

Dell To Make Windows 7 Tablet As Well As Android 10-Incher

February 9, 2011 by HS in Dell, Tablet, Windows Tablet with 1 Comment.

Despite the lukewarm reception of the Dell Streak 7, Dell are marching onwards into tablet territory, with news coming of an upcoming Windows 7 tablet as well as a 10-inch Android tablet (will it be called the Streak 10?). Aside from these sparse details, not much is known about the upcoming Dell tablets - but there has been much speculation. The 10-inch Android tab could run Android 2.2 with the Stage UI overlay - but this would seem a somewhat unwise move considering that 3.0 Honeycomb is out and about - Dell would be better off staying with the curve rather than falling behind it. The Windows 7 tablet is apparently aimed at business users, and will feature cloud computing as well as workstation features (whatever that may include). It will likely be a 10-incher as well (consider hot,

Dell Streak 7: Bad Battery Life?

February 2, 2011 by HS in Tablet, Video with 1 Comment.

Reviews have already started to filter in on the Dell Streak 7, as well as hands on videos, and they aren't wholly positive - at least, not the kind of raving a tablet like the Samsung Galaxy Tab received, which is interesting. The Dell Streak 7 competes in the 7-inch market, as opposed to say, the larger 10-inch market, and as such is up against some heavyweights like the aforementioned Samsung. In the hands on video above, Matt from ZDnet takes us through the Streak 7, commenting on the low screen resolution (800 x 480), as well as showing off the power of the NVIDIA Tegra 2 chip that powers the Streak 7.  But, onto the meatier aspects of the Streak 7,  Joanna from Engadget only managed around 3 and a half hours of battery life - the same is noticed by other reviewers such as those
