To go along with BYD's recent tablet whom they affectionately named Alice comes the W901T Android 2.2 smartphone, a much less creative naming scheme. We missed this when it came around too, and so are filling you in now. The W901T is powered by the Qualcomm MSM8255 Snapdragon at 1GHz (with 512MB RAM), which you'll also find in the HTC Desire HD as well as the recently announced Sharp Galapagos tablets (we think), runs Android 2.2, has an auto-focus 8-megapixel camera, and a 2100mAh battery. It also comes with Bluetooth 3.0, WiFi, WAPI, AGPS, an accelerometer, a compass, and is a Dual SIM/USIM capable handset. Whew, it all sounds good so far. No information yet on pricing and availability - it is certainly not a bad looking device.

So we missed this when it came around, but since we're doing a catch-up this weekend on things we've missed, we thought we'd present it again because... well, she's named Alice. BYD (Build Your Dream), a well-known battery manufacturer as well as car manufacturer has put forth this tablet offering, a Tegra 2 powered girl that looks every bit as impressive as their playful naming of Alice might suggest. We of course have to ask if there is a rabbit-hole to this device, but do so in jest. This actually looks very impressive. It's an Android 2.2 tablet measuring up at 8.9-inches with a screen resolution of 964x544, which is a bit unorthodox. Perhaps we've already fallen in the rabbit hole. The Tegra 2 processor, based on ARM 9 architecture, comes clocked at 1GHz, and the tablet also has 1
Just spotted this video of the BYD Alice tablet which uses the Nvida Tegra chip and runs Android. I don't know if the device is still under development or if there was some other issue, but the tablet looks quite unresponsive, which is suprising as you would expect the Tegra to handle Android well, but comparing how this performed to the RK2808 processor, the RK2808 looks to run rings around this.
