The BM-889's touchscreen UI has been previewed and is looking pretty functional, whilst remaining multifunctional.
For a rundown and pic of the 5 inch player's interface click after the jump.
Here's the UI and we can see everything's laid out nicely and within touch from the main screen which also handily displays a clock, date, track information (if music's playing), battery life, date and day (hopefully the next software update will change 'Satday').
The screen uses Blue Morning's "magnetic induction" touchscreen technology which is currently as ambiguous as the other hidden specs. Everything tbc.

Blue Morning are transfering to HD with their next player, 5 inch BM-899 with a litle help from Taiwanese pop star Will Pan.
Pan's face is etched n the back of the player (after the jump for pic) to collect fans but aside from that the player has full 1080P playback, a 5 inch 16 million colour LTPS hi-res, low temperature polysilicon display and a very silver fusilage that gets me thinking about that stainless steel beast, the DeLorean.

Whilst efforts are concentrated on developing 1080i HD players and HDMI output, Blue Morning have released a standard, functional 720p player with 4GB memory that puts the tried and tested hardware in the budget range of approx. $50.
The player has a 4 inch, 260,000 colour screen with TV out and supports RMVB, FLV , AVI, ASF, WMV, RM, MP4, MPG and DAT video and MP3, WMA, OGG, APE, FLAC, WAV audio.
There's also a big power button taking up a lot of the right hand side. They must have been very proud of that button to give it so much space.

Here's a first look at the 8GB Blue Morning BM-996HD from China.
Not quite pocket sized, it sports a 7 inch TFT screen which displays at up to 720p (1280 x 720).
As well as supporting the usual video formats (MP4, AVI, RM, FLV etc.) and music, it also doubles as an e-book reader that supports playing MP3s while you read.
Soundwise Microsoft Play FX is supported with 3D surround and FM radio is thrown in to boot.
Expansion comes in the form of a TF card (128MB – 4GB) and it is powered by a lithium-ion battery (which will hopefully last through a movie or two at the highest resolution).
