China based company BenQ have recently released a 10-inch tablet - the R100 - that apparently has the most "readable graphical interface design". Their approach with this tablet seems to be geared more towards the office folk as eBook files and other office apps seem to be this tablets selling point. The R100 is powered by a Samsung S4PC100 processor clocked at 833MHz and it uses Android 2.0 (unusual at this point in time) as its OS. Its 10.1-inch resistive single-touch LED screen has a resolution of 1024 x 600. RAM wise - it uses 512MB of DDRII, and it also has 8GB of internal memory with a MicroSD Card slot that supports up to 32GB. Connectivity wise, it has built-in WiFi and Bluetooth. It also comes with built-in speakers. As for jacks and ports - it has a mini-USB port, HDMI port a
We wrote of the BenQ R100 quite a while ago and since then, little - if anything at all - has been heard from this sleek looking tablet. Now, though, BenQ has released a statement that the BenQ R100 Android 2.2 tablet is scheduled to go on sale in China and Taiwan in Q1 2011. Pricing details have not been released, presumably because the tablet market landscape changes so fast with continued releases and increasing tablet functionality. The R100 is a 10.1-inch tablet (1024x600) and has a resistive touchscreen, which might be much to the chagrin of many a capacitive fan. The previous information we had stated a 667MHz Samsung processor, but that has now been raised to 833MHz which is welcome, to be sure. Also interesting is HDMI output, indicating this tablet will do HD video. BenQ have c
BenQ have their own Android tablet device, the BenQ nReader R100.Though the naming scheme might make you think this is primarily an e-book reader, you would be mistaken. The nReader R100 is a 10.1-inch (1024x600) device (with a resistive touchscreen) that comes with HDMI output, a battery that BenQ says will last for 12 hours, WiFi, 3G, a 667MHz Samsung ARM-based CPU and it will run on Google Android 2.2. All in all, it looks promising, even if the CPU's relatively low clockspeed - when compared with the OMAP's that are blitzing the tablet market - is something to ponder over.

BenQ's S6 MID is entering the fray at the 4.8-inch size with a resistive touchscreen for added stylus input support. The BenQ S6, which will come with a built-in Unicom 3G module (to allow for SIM cards), will be powered by the Intel Atom Z500 processor clocked at 800MHz, will feature 512MB DDR2 RAM, pack an 8GB SSD hard disk, come with Bluetooth and WiFi connectivity, and sport a 1800mAh battery for "2-3 hours" of battery life. Phew. It will also run on the Windows XP Home operating system by default. All in all, an interesting offering from BenQ, certainly more geared toward a defined use rather than just casual web browsing.
It's really quite thick, though, measuring in at 158mm x 90mm x 22mm and weighing in at 370g (apparently).
