The Cube B33HD player, which we talked about here and saw dismantled here, has been officially released and should be filtering out to the public fairly soon. To refresh your memory, the Cube B33HD is a 3.6-inch player that uses the Sochip SC9800 chip, allowing you up to 1280p video playback (1920x1280 video resolution). Also on the B33HD is the much touted BBE functionality for audio which is sure to whet the appetites of some sound aficionados. Cube really have presented an interesting small player - small, but very powerful - and seem to be targeting a low-price bracket - not a bad move.

The folks at iMP3, along with the Cube H880FHD, have also had a peek at the internals of the Cube B33HD. The Cube B33HD runs the same Boxchip F10 (Sochip Sc9800) as the H880FHD but appears to have a less particular PCB, as the H880FHD features one with a square hold punched out of the middle for the battery pack - definitely something "more" custom. The Cube B33HD - a 3.6-inch player - has been upgraded from the Sochip SC8600 chipset (therefore allowing for 720p video playback) to the Sochip SC9800 chipset (allowing for 1080p video playback and apparently up to 1280p). This is a new addition to Cube's lineup that in the initial testing phase as seen on iMP3, the player crashed many times which is disheartening but nothing a little firmware tweaking won't fix. The new upgraded Cube B33HD should be filtering onto shelves soon replacing the older iteration, and there has been no word on price increases. Discuss this.

iMp3 have got their hands on the new Cube B33HD and it does look like a nice player. The 3.6" high resolution screen seems to be the main highlight of this player, it is one of the few 800 x 480 resolution screens that i have seen to be used on 3.6" form factor.

Cube is about to release yet another player with their B33HD, this particular player seems to use a new media processor and not the standard Sochip they have been using. What i do like about this player is its small screen size, 3.6" and that it will have a 800x480 resolution, this combination isn't something that we see too often on Chinese players.The B33HD will support video playback of upto 768p and support RMVB?RM?AVI?WMV?FLV?MKV?DAT?MPG?MP4?MOV?PMP?VOB?H.264(HP)? H.263 and will support DT, AC-3 audio tracks and will support 1080P video out. It will also support OTG, lossless and standard audio formats.
Now the real eye opener here is the price, the B33HD will retail within China for RMB$299, or about USD$44.00, but i don't know how much internal memory will come at that price
