October 25, 2011 by Alex in Android Tablet, Asus, Tablet with No Comments.

First showcased at the AsiaD conference by Asus CEO, Jonney Shih, the Asus Eee Pad Transformer Prime (formally known as the Eee Pad Transformer 2) is to be expected to debut in the coming weeks. Until then, let yourself be teased by its official teaser page. Find out more after the break. Amongst the "faster, stronger, slimmer" and other adverbs splayed over the teaser page, we're also told that the Transformer Prime is the first tablet to be sporting the quad-core Kal-El Processor - NVIDIA's Tegra three chip. What the tablet will also come with - unadvertised on the teaser page, and isn't a first place runner-up - is Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich (The Motorola Xoom is the first tablet to be receiving the 4.0 update). However, with all these top tier tablet-orientated specs and ad

Asus Eee Pad Transformer 2 Confirmed?

August 2, 2011 by Alex in Android Tablet, Asus, Tablet with No Comments.

Following shortly after the widespread release of the Asus Eee Pad Transformer, a confirmed Transformer 2 was confirmed to be on its way to development. This is according to Asus' Chairman, Jonney Shih, so you know to not take this one with a pinch of salt. The comment confirming that Asus will be working on an Eee Pad transformer 2 was actually one that was passed to Forbes, however when probed more on the matter, no further information on the tablet was revealed other than that it's "impressive". But as these things go, the less the official information given, the more the need for rumours and leaks there are, so there's no surprise when NVIDIA's Tegra 3 (Kal-El) crops up as the rumoured processor of choice for the new Transformer 2 tab. And as always, only time will tell. via ube

Android 3.2 Is Now Out And Heading Towards Asus’ Eee Pad Transformer

July 28, 2011 by Alex in Android, Android News, Android Tablet, Asus, Tablet with 2 Comments.

A Twitter update by Asus revealed the latest Android version - 3.2 - to be hitting their Eee Pad Transformer tomorrow (29th). However, and there's always a however, not all Eee Pad owners will be getting the update at the same time. Find out why after the break. Asus Germany put their notice on another social network - Facebook - saying how they will be pushing their Android 3.2 update onto their Transformer owners wirelessly by August the 2nd. What does the 3.2 update bring to the tablet that already endorses 3.1? Not much other than better graphic support for a few apps designed for a smartphone, and a few other minor upgrades. The main point of an Android 3.2 upgrade is that it can run on 7-inch tablets with lower resolution screens, however if you're already a Transformer owne

Windows 8 In The Next Asus Eee Pad Transformer?

June 15, 2011 by Alex in Android Tablet, Asus, Tablet, Windows Tablet with No Comments.

According to Notebook Italia, Asus has set their sights on Windows 8 to be the next platform for the next Eee Pad Transformer tablet. The original Android 3.0 Honeycomb bearing Eee Pad Transformer has been reigning supreme on the tablet world and luckily for us Android lovers, it's not going to get stabbed in the back and left to die on the marble steps - Accompanying the new Windows 8 Transformer - set to come in 2012 - is a newer, follow-up Android Transformer. Both new renditions will be lighter and thinner than the original, and sources say that the newer Android model will even be priced at USD$399 again - the same price the original 16GB model was set at.  The new Windows 8 model will probably come with a higher price tag, it is Windows after all. With such promising tablets in th

Is It Worth Overclocking The Asus Eee Pad Transformer?

May 23, 2011 by Alex in Android Tablet, Asus, Tablet with No Comments.

Well first of all lets see how the Asus Eee Pad Transformer was able to be overclocked from its original 1Ghz. Thanks to developer, netarchy at forum.xda-developers.com, a custom kernal was posted for download that allows you to overclock your Eee Pad Transformer to 1.4GHz (whith possible expansion in the future). Does it work well on 1.4GHz? Not really. The tablet was reported to be not very stable, however overclocking it to 1.2GHz seemed to of done the trick - it may be modest but it still ran 20% faster than normal. If you want your Asus Eee Pad Transformer to run 20% faster too then grab the download here, although keep in mind that you'll need to root your tablet first, and by doing so you void the warranty and risk losing data so make sure you create backups. via liliputing

Tegra 3 Powered Asus Tab This Year!?

May 5, 2011 by Alex in Asus, Tablet with No Comments.

It could be that H2 2011 could be when a NVIDIA Tegra 3 chipped Asus tablet hits the market. This is all speculation at the moment and is based loosely on combining two previous announcements: NVIDIA announcing Tegra 3 SoC - dubbed Kal-El - products to arrive by August 2011 and Asus claiming that they'll be releasing a tablet around the same time. Asus is already using NVIDIA's dual-core Tegra 2 processor in their Eee Pad Transformer tablet, and the rumours have even gone so far as to suggest that Asus are already putting the new Tegra 3 SoC to use. Check back on our Tegra 3 blog so see what the new chip is all about. via ubergizmo

Asus Released Software Update For The Already Hard To Find Eee Pad Transformer

April 28, 2011 by Alex in Android Tablet, Asus, Other, Software / OS, Tablet with No Comments.

Asus have pushed out a software update for their Asus Eee Pad Transformer - a tablet that's recently hit the market, and more recently sold out. The update brings with it a bunch of new apps and social software including Mycloud and Mydesktop which lets you remotely control a Windows PC. Although updates are always nice and it shows Asus' support, this particular update could be seen as bloatware if you're not really interested in remote desktop functionality or cloud storage. via liliputing

Asus Eee Pad Transformer Now Out! Asus Eee Pad Transformer Now Sold Out!

April 27, 2011 by Alex in Android Tablet, Asus, Tablet with 2 Comments.

It looks like the Asus Eee Pad Transformer - a tablet that was already in short supply overseas since its launch in Taiwan and the UK, has been dwindling in stock number in the US to the point of it being sold out in most US retailers. What's even more surprising is that the tablet was just recently released out on the US market! However, not all of the retailers on Asus' website list has even mentioned stock of the tablet, but for ones that have and have put up a 'sold out' sign, we've got: Amazon, Buy.com, B&H, TigerDirect, DataVision, Newegg and Best Buy. For those of you who may not know what the Asus Eee Pad Transformer is - in brief: it's a 10-inch tablet that's powered by a 1GHz NVIDIA Tegra 2 processor and will run Android 3.0 Honeycomb. It also has 1GB of RAM, 16GB to 32Gb o

Like A Makeshift iPad Laptop But Better – The Asus Transformer, According To Asus

April 6, 2011 by Alex in Android Tablet, Asus, Random, Tablet with No Comments.

An ad by Asus subtly (not really) mocks the Apple iPad by saying their Asus Eee Pad Transformer is like a taped up iPad and keyboard, but better. Although this did stir up some closed-mouthed giggles from us, it is not the first we've seen of Apple being bullied by its competitors: LG's Optimus phone ad had them destroying an evil Apple, Toshiba openly made fun of them in their tablet ad and Motorola mockingly referenced Apple's 1984 ad in their Xoom ad. Although not directly, the major tablet companies have compared their tablets to a 'generic' tablet that happens to resemble the iPad - all in the name of good competitive fun. via tablet-news
