Tsinghua Tongfang have released a 7" media player with focus being on eBook reading. Where the?PMC-1200 differs from other media players is that it claims to be able to read not only text files but PDF, Word documents, powerpoint and other formats
The player claims a 7" LTPS?? screen with full media functionalities also, meaning video, photo etc etc, also TV-out and remote control.
Not sure what this is running chip wise but for many have the capability to view word and PDF would be a great advantage, if these could also be sent via the TV OUT then using this as a powerpoint viewer for presentations would be a great advantage to carrying round a hulking laptop everywhere

Can you bare it!! yet another uninspiring release from China, meet the C410HD from Teclast
Now, this one comes in nice fancy blue color .. oooooo .. i can see you are all excited :)
Anyway, its nothing special, its using the same chip as the C500HD (T2700 as teclast has called it, same as used in the cube and ainol players),so its got all the buzz words in there, MKV, H.264 etc etc, you know the score by now

Well i love retro styled things, if done right they can look really good, but getting it right is a hard thing to do, to make something look retro but also up-to-date is a hard thing to achieve - unfortunately for the Baidu B829 they did not have the skills
Baidu, in the linked article, are sick of being just re-branders, taking a stock design and slapping their name on, so they are committed to creating their own unique designs and yes, i think they should be committed after this atrocity.
This is what they have come up with, now i do not really know if they were going for a retro look or actually think that this is a good design for a media player but either way its awful, early eighties design style does not fit well for a portable media player at all. If you dare, have a lo
The onslought continues with yet another release of a HD player from China.
Cube are to throw to market a very square slab of a player
As you can see that advert has ALL the current buzz words in it, 720p, Exfat, MKV, H264 blah blah blah, we have seen it all before, other amazing attributes to this player are 4,3" screen, 16milllion color screen, still button operated, OTG (on the go) plus all the normal ebook and photo viewers etc.
Cant really see where this differs from their other players, most new release from other companies have at least included a HDMI port to justify a new release, but this seems based on the same chip as its previous players OR it could be the new ingenics JZ4750/55 chip
Anyway, for those so desperate to see more news on HD player see the source he
RAmos have just announced that the new T11RK player will soon be available in Black
The original was of course in silver and is just been put up for presale on MP4nation shop
Not sure when this one will be out though

The imaginatively named Window, a PMP company in China, have announced their first player to utilize the new 28 series rockchip (RK2806)
This player looks quite sleek and uses a less popular 4" screen, which to many will seem a better idea, especially for portability with many buyers asking for 3.3 - 3.7" screens this one nearly fits the bill, by the looks its a button operated player not touchscreen
Now MP4nation dont sell window player and TBH windows support for their players seems lacking

As predicted by MP4nation, touch screen players based on the new chips are starting to appear now, there are a couple available and now Gemei are to join in the party.
Announced today is the new HD693T from Gemei, its a touch screen based player with 4.3" screen, no real details as yet except that it will use haptic feedback (you will tire of this in about 5 mins), some ugly main menu icons gleaned from the massive collection on the web, there is a reference to the cirrus logic audio chip which indicates Gemei are sticking with the ChinaChip CC1600 as the main powerhouse to run this baby. I imagine that beyond the main menu the UI will be the same as the old style C1600 interface, dull and completely ugly (personal opinion) with some touch buttons literally dropped on from a great h
Up and coming company Cube have now added a new 3" player to their product line
The Cube B8 is a 3" touch screen player, it incorporates vibration feedback (battery drainer) and rotation sensor. This is similar to other products from companies like Ramos and Window so it nothing new or groundbreaking.
The design is OK, the back looks a little odd but we can live with that. Judging by the spec sheet it look to be using the older RK2706 chip from Rockchip rather than any of the newer co-called HD chips that are currently dominating the market in China, but it makes sense, it will make the player cheaper and, believe it or not, were not all interested in HD, its a portable media player NOT a home entertainment system!!
basica specs so far are the video formats support and include R
