Android Malware Masquerading as Google++ App

A sneaky Android malware has recently been caught by a team from Trend Mirco, which discovered that the malware – called ANDROIDOS_NICKISPY.C. – was gallivanting around under the guise of a Google++ app. Now you may have already noticed something off about the mask – Google’s social network is actually Google+, not ++, but still it can be easily overlooked and therefor can find its way onto your Android smartphone. Find out what the malware does to your device after the break.

The naughty malware automatically loads after you’ve downloaded and booted up your phone. It is then capable of automatically making and receive phone calls. It also runs several services that can monitor your emails, phone calls, locate your current location and can also steal your email and and other content. The good news is that the app can be deleted, however it’s still best to avoid it in the first place if you can.
