Video: The Freak Child Of Google And Apple – The Gooapple Phone

‘Tis a dark day for avid Android fans as their beloved OS has, quite possibly against its will, been mutated into the purest form of an iOS clone yet. On the other side of the fence, Apple fans may be fretting about the Android imposter posing as their mother OS. And for the ones sitting on the fence, well… it’s simply the best of both worlds! What am I banging on about? Find out after the break.

The Gooapple phone: a China made iPhone 4 clone that runs Android 2.2 (FroYo) skinned to look exactly like iOS. The iPhone 4 shell has been cloned before, and there has even been attempts at imitating iOS with Android, but this one takes the poser award. Shell wise, the Gooapple sports near identical dimensions (including 9.3mm thickness) and even fits most iPhone 4 cases! As for the OS: Android FroYo now has the standard iOS home screen, keyboard, lock screen, dialer, message app, etc. The Android back and menu buttons normally found on the bottom are even removed. But not everything Android is gone. All the benefits of Google’s Android OS are still there, hidden under the iron mask of iOS, such as the notification bar! Check out the hands-on Gooapple video below, with dialogue fit for narrating a blockbuster trailer. You’ll also notice how smooth the phone runs. Maybe sitting on the fence isn’t such a bad place to sit after all…
