SODDIT – Homemade Speakers Made In Probably Under 6 Seconds

Strange & ODDity In Technology – welcome to SODDIT, a hopeful new regular at MP4Nation. We’ll scour the internet superstores and bring to you the intriguing, the weird, the strange, the odd, and the downright unbelievable. Please, don’t let the loose stringency of our acronym naming system turn you away.

In this edition of SODDIT, we have home made speakers that seem to lack somewhat in ingenuity and… effort. There’s been many a times where you’re either with more people than you can offer your earphones to or simply want to dance to music without the face whippings from earphone cables. Whomever and whatever creates these beauties have taken the shortest possibly route to bringing that dream into a reality. After (we estimate around) 6 seconds of McGyver-ness, these exceptional inventors have offered their third wheel company the music they were sharing with their date, and can dance as buck-wild as the kids from Hanson circa 1995 must have during their candy and pop fueled major record label parties. Join us after the break to find out how to dance just like young Hanson.

The first image is as easy as it is… easy. There’s no real need for an explanation here but if we must: use toilet repeatedly until you run out of toilet paper – scream at mother who has accidentally thrown empty toilet roll in bin – fish toilet roll out of bin – insert over speaker end of iPod – play your favourite Boney M track – dance like Hanson.

This next homemade speaker is probably one that’s probably been done throughout festivals around the globe. If you’re not feeling the type of live music being played on stage, why not take things into your own hands by popping your favourite Boney M track onto this voice speaker and have the crowd cheer for you. Before you know it you’ll be setting player+speaker on to center stage and joining in on the epic mosh-pit during the heavy tune of “Brown Girl In The Ring”.

This homemade amplifier/speaker was probably done by the same person who they based the McGyver character on made the tissue roll speaker. Similar steps should apply: pour out sibling’s cup of milk – step over puddle of milk on floor and retrieve player – dry cup with said sibling’s T-shirt – place player into cup – play ‘Brown Girl In The Ring” by Boney M – start mosh-pit in said sibling’s room despite their consent – include said sibling in mosh-pit despite their consent.

That about wraps it up with today’s SODDIT. We can cheerfully walk away with two lessons learnt from this blog. 1: Boney M are a great band. 2: Hanson are an OK band but great dancers.
