HTC Thinks The Tablet Trend Ain’t Over Yet!
It looks like Taiwan’s HTC is not a skeptic when it comes to the ‘trend’ that is the tablet. Instead of seeing them as a trend, HTC believes that the tablet is the way of the future and have even started thinking of coming out with even more tablets than the HTC Flyer they already have, which hasn’t even hit the international market yet! HTC Europe’s head, Florian Seiche had this to say on the matter: (after the break)
“I really believe that the tablet market is really going to to be a big market in the future and this is just the start… In five years’ time, schools will have tablets probably instead of physical notebooks. I think that’s going to be such a massive wave of additional penetration in society… I think we can’t even guess the potential.”
The HTC Flyer has yet to receive consumer experience feedback, and its success is yet to be determined although HTC are saying that it’s doing well. But with the already given response of the expensive stylus and lack of Honeycomb (for a dual core tab), it could very well not do well – we’ll just have to wait and see. There’s no information yet on HTC’s future tabs, but with the mention of schools and notebook replacements, they could be thinking in terms of low-budget.
