Upgrade Your ANDRock 7C To Android 2.2 (FroYo) – Tutorial Thanks To Kristo

Another big thanks to Kristo (who’s recently done a video review of Android 2.2 (FroYo) on the ANDRock 7C) for posting up the download links to Android 2.2 (FroYo) and the RK tool file for you to be able to upgrade your ANDRock 7C AKA the Winodow N9 tablet. Special thanks go to Lionheart and Lefeudedieu for creating the firmware. As a pre-warning before you go ahead and sort your tablet out with the upgraded Android version – If something goes wrong with you tablet, mp4nation and its representatives, Kristo and anyone else that’s involved with this ROM are not to be held responsible. Upgrade at your own risk! OK, now down to business – click after the break for Kristo’s tutorial and links.

To start off, you’ll need to two following links:

Before you begin, here are a few things that are wrong with the ROM that need to be changed up:

Observations of the ROM:
- you may need to turn your WiFi sleep mode to ‘Never’ (at least for Kristo)
- after boot, turn the screen off and on to make the touchscreen work
- auto-rotate needs to be turned on in Zeam Launcher to also make theĀ  homescreen rotate
- if you encounter an ‘error 18′ when installing an app, mount your SD card to your PC and re-install
- your tablet now thinks it’s a phone
Guide to accessing the full Google Marketplace (thanks to Lefeudedieu):
1. open Marketplace and sign in with your account
2. after you’ve accepted the terms, you should see an empty market – close the market
3. you’ll see an update ‘icon’ in the notification bar – wait for this to disappear
4. go to S ettings –> Applications –> Manage Applications –> All
5. scroll down to the Marketplace, open it and clear the cache
6. go back, scroll up to Google Framework Services and open it – delete the data
7. now reboot the tablet and go to the Marketplace – you should see a full market
(sometimes after rebooting, you may need to try a second time – so from step 4 and up)

Now on to the Android 2.2 (FroYo) upgrade!

Upgrade process:
1. unpack the rktools and the image file
2. power off your tablet
3. hook a usb cable to computer
4. hold ESC and plug in the tablet
5. install the necessary drivers that come in the rktools folders by:

7. click the … button next to the image box and add the FroYo image downloaded
