Waterproof SDHC and MicroSDHC Cards From Samsung
Samsung have announced the impending availability of waterproof SDHC and MicroSDHC cards in Korea. It’s an interesting idea, and I suppose would be handy for people with certain high-risk professions, like fisherman or lifeguard or pool sweeper. Protecting your data for up to 24 hours of being submerged in water (what happens after that we’re not sure of yet), you could drop your phone into the swimming pool, retrieve it, and still have all your music files, photographs and contacts saved on the SD card. Pretty nifty, but you’re still out a phone. It’s small consolation for what is ultimately an expensive lesson.
