Toshiba Giving Apple Some Beef?

When we say beef, we don’t mean literally the meat of a cow, but rather the stiring up of trouble through slanderous comments. Well, perhaps not so slanderous but rather light competitive comments. Toshiba has now said that their Toshiba tab is better than the iPad 2. According to the general manager of information systems for Toshiba Australia: the tablet of the Asian company is better than the iPad 2. This follows an official clip by Toshiba that mocks the iPad’s lack of Flash support. If you’re wondering what the Toshiba tab (supposedly dubbed Antares) is and why they’re talking ill of the iPad 2 – it is a 10-inch tablet with a resolution of 1280 x 800. It’s powered by NVIDIA’s dual-core Tegra 2 processor and it is to launch with Android Honeycomb (3.0). The tablet also has a removable battery, USB and HDMI ports, a 2-megapixel front camera and a 5-megapixel rear camera, WiFi and Bluetooth connectivity and a MicroSD card slot. The Toshiba tab is set to be released a few days after the iPad 2 and is said to be matching with a similar price as well. With Apple’s iPad 2 being sold for USD$499.99 for the base model and USD$750 for a more advanced model, as well as tablets like the Motorola Xoom being sold for USD$800 – lets see if Toshiba beats them to the punch with the tablets specs… or the tablets price tag.
