Qualcomm-Powered Generic: Q7

The Q7: it’s powered by Qualcomm’s MSM7627 ARM11-based SoC clocked at 600MHz, so it’s not exactly a powerhouse, but it can compete against the A8′s that we see in many China tablets to some degree. This 7-inch tablet will have a capacitive touchscreen display, 512MB RAM, come with 3G and GPS built-in as well as feature 2 0.5-megapixel cameras, one front-facing and one rear-facing. It’s not a bad looking tablet, with the squarer look expected after the Galaxy Tab hit the market. The Q7 above is just a rendering, but these hardware specs would put a slate like this in very middle-of-the-pack territory with likely a quick EOL timeframe. Honestly, we’re wondering when we’re going to start hearing about upcoming Honeycomb “Shanzhai” tablets.
