This year’s Mobile World Congress has Rightware – the company responsible for Audi’s MMI interface – showcasing their new and fully functional Stereoscopic 3D homescreen for Android, and the first in the world according to them. The 3D user interface is based off the company’s Kanzi UI which is a platform used for displaying complex 3D UI’s on mobile devices. The video after the break shows the 3D homescreen and what it looks like when flipping through the functions. From the big screen to home TV screens and now on to screens that will sit in your pocket – three dimensions seem to still be going strong. As the the actual layout of the UI – nothing out of the ordinary here, and with Android 3.0 Honeycomb already being quite a stunner, one can only hope that the 3D actually pops out at you in order to give this piece of ingenuity some depth. We don’t quite know which version(s) of Android this is applicable to, but hopefully that will be revealed at MWC. Video after the break.
