Two Possible Sony Tablets – A Dual-Screen Honeycomb And A Windows 7 With Slider

sony

It was last week when Engadget seeped out a leak about Sony working on an Android tablet with PlayStation integration and multimedia features. The same source now claims that Sony may be working on two other devices – a dual 5.5-inch tablet that runs Android 3.0 Honeycomb and a Windows 7 tablet with a slide-out keyboard. The dual-screen tablet that’s dubbed the S2 is said to resemble a cylinder when closed – kind of like in the above image (although I’m sure that’s the blueprints for a glasses case). Like the Kyocera Echo, this tablet is able to run different features on each screen such as mail inbox in one and an open message in the other. The tablet is also said to be powered by a NVIDIA dual-core Tegra 2 processor, WiFi and 3G connectivity and a front and rear camera. Price wise – an expected USD$700. As for the Windows 7 tablet, its display is said to be 9.4-inches and with its slide-out keyboard, it turns into a somewhat laptop. This tablet is estimated at USD$800 or possibly higher. It seems like Sony will be (should be) focusing on build-quality and tight intergration with Sony’s digital media service, offering eBooks, music, videos and more as they’re entering a very competitive market at the moment.
