SmartQ T10: Cortex-A9-Powered
Smart Devices certainly haven’t given up with their SmartQ line of Android devices, even after the underwhelming N7 and the irrelevant R10. Looks like SmartQ are having another crack at it, but this time with some quite impressive specs. The T10 tablet showcased in these promotional images highlights a Cortex-A9 processor with ARM’s Mali-400 GPU on the SoC – we’ve seen this configuration before, remember? While we’re unsure if the T10 will hold an Amlogic chip or not, or how comparable it will be to the similarly-spec’ed Ramos W10 tablet, we do not yet know. What we do know is that the T10 is being touted as SmartQ’s flagship model, the tablet to rejuvenate the name, a name that has been wading in its own stagnant pond for a little too long now. We support the move away from the old TCC8902 chips to the more advanced Cortex architecture. The T10 will run Android 2.2 FroYo, will have 512MB RAM, 8GB internal storage, and will have WiFi, Bluetooth, GPS connectivity. It’s got a 9.7-inch IPS LCD display with 10-point multitouch capability, presumably on a capacitive touchpanel. We hope the T10 turns out to be as good as its specs would suggest it has the potential to be.

[...] TCC8902 processor. Exaggeration aside, the SmartQ is looking more and more like a winner. We believe it’s powered by the Amlogic 8726-M chip, the ARM Cortex-A9-based SoC with on-board Mali-400 [...]
ST-Ericsson U8500 is also a Cortex-A9 with Mali-400 gpu. This is the example development platform for mali 400 given on ARM malidev website :

You are correct, but with Chinese tablets you tend to find they stick to a single platform, as most of these brands are simply buying designs. If we’ve already seen a few tablets with Amlogic, it’s more likely that SmartQ is going down that route, rather than adopting a different platform.
