MWC, much like CES, is a hotbed of new technology with announcements here and showcases there. One such announcement that was actually made at the pre-MWC conference was the debut of LG’s Optimus Pad – formally known as LG’s G-Slate. The tablet’s debut coincided with the debut of three other LG Optimus handsets – Optimus Black, Optimus 3D and Optimus 2X. The Optimus Pad is a tablet that uses the good looking Android 3.0 Honeycomb OS, as well as the powerful NVIDIA Tegra 2 processing chip. But what separates this slate from the rest are the 2 built-in rear cameras capable of capturing 1080p HD 3D image and video content. The 8.9-inch screen has a resolution of 1280 x 768, can do 1080p HD video playback and has a 3D display. This is definitely a tablet worth keeping both eyes on as more will be revealed throughout the event. Extra image after the beak.
