Samsung Galaxy Tab Clone Spotted

We all knew this was coming, but it is surprising we haven’t seen one of these earlier. This Samsung Galaxy Tab clone does look a bit like the real thing, which is pretty cool, but the buttons at the bottom really give it away. Oh, and the lack of the Samsung logo. This is a 7-inch Android 2.2 tab, powered by the ARM Cortex A8-based Samsung S5PV210 processor, likely clocked at either 800MHz or overclocked to 1GHz, as we have seen before. Also under the bonnet is 512MB RAM. Not much else is known – whether it has a capcitive or resistive touchscreen, for instance – but we are expecting to see more and more of these crop up in the near future. This clone will easily sell for less than half the cost of a Galaxy Tab – but that doesn’t say much!

Hmm will have to watch for this one. I like the Galaxy Tab but not the price so much.

Another tablet that is very much like this one is the Herotab C8/Dropad A8.

It has the same amount of 512MB DDR2 Ram, 4GB Nandflash built in, Samsung S5PV210, 7″ Capacitive Multitouch 800×480 and Android 2.2. It only has a home button though.

Bulk price is $175 while selling for around $250.
