Windows 7 & Ubuntu Dual Boot Tablet?

ubuntu-windows-tablet

Above pictured is supposedly a dual boot tablet that boots both Windows 7, something that is fairly commonplace to tablets, as well as Ubuntu Netbook Edition – now that’s a first for us. We’re curious as to how Ubuntu performs, though it is not a stretch to imagine as this mystery tablet houses netbook internals, starting with an Intel Atom processor clocked at 1.66GHz, possibly the N450 though we’re not certain. 2GB of RAM and a 32GB SSD round out the skeleton of the specs. The display measures in at 10.1-inches and with a capacitive touchpanel that allows for multitouch input. It looks a force, but the x86 architecture means a thick tablet with cooling vents and possibly, just possibly, dedicated cooling solution (such as a small fan). Further, x86 tablets are typically less forgiving on the battery so this tablet is not without its negatives. But it is definitely very interesting, and a novel take on the Ubuntu Netbook Edition OS. To be sure, though, I expect a member of the community far more experienced than I to come along and post a comment pointing me to where this has been done a dozen times before.
