The ICOO K17T – Oh Look, There’s Jay Chou Again

ICOO, having already come out with an e-book reader – the K12T of 4.3-inches (that could be the e-book reader we’ve blogged about before) have now come out with a new e-book reader by popular demand, and the pulling power of Mr.Chou – the K17T, a 7-inch reader with a resolution of 800 x 480. If the K12T is indeed the e-book reader we blogged about, then it should be powered by SoChip – a strange choice seeing as PDF does not work so well on it. However, it is uncertain as to whether the K17T (and the K12T for that matter) uses a SoChip processing chip. What we do know is that the K17T is a multi-format e-reader with HD video playback. For its e-book format support: PDF, EPUB, TXT, CHM, FB2, HTML, PDB, UMD and others. Video files: MKV, MOV, RMVB, RM, AVI, PMP, DAT, FLV, VOB, MP4, MPG, 3GP and more, as well as subtitle support and HDTV-out. And for its audio files: MP3, WMA, WAV, FLAC, APE, AAC, OGG and then some. The K17T also has other bonus functions such as a Chinese, an English to Chinese, and vice versa dictionary. It can also support BMP, PNG, GIF files, and has a variety of games. It allows for up to 16GB microSD expansion, and the device has both touchscreen + button control, although why would you not want to touch an image of Jay Chou’s face? There are also firmware upgrades to be had, and can be connected to Windows 2000, Windows XP and Windows Vista. Perhaps not a trend-setter in terms of design, however, there isn’t much to complain with the HD e-book reader, especially not when there’s a lady like that hiding in there. More images after the break.
