Rumour Says HP Slate Is Shipping

The highly anticipated, Windows run HP slate is rumoured to have begun shipping out from Shanghai. Such rumours have been spread by a certain someone who apparently has PDF proof of the slate having left it’s docks. Let’s quickly remind everyone of what the HP Slate is – It has an Intel Atom Z530 processor (1.6Ghz), 1GB of non-upgradable DDR2 RAM, 32GB or 64GB of internal storage, 8.9″ WSVGA display with a resolution of 1024×600, capacitive multitouch with pen/digitiser support, and Intel UMA display chip with HD accelerator and supports 1080p. If the rumour is indeed true, this will be a good runner up for the Galaxy Tab and the iPad, in the hands of slate consumers. Christmas choices just got a little harder.

[...] We’ve blogged about the HP Slate (or now known as the HP Slate 500) having been shipping out of it’s manufacturers, and into our hands. Now, it seems like it’s already in some of our hands, and is out the box. All this is confirmed via the picktures that have recently been posted online – much like the one we have above. Excited about getting yours or perhaps wanting to now place an order? Well, let’s just remind you one more time what it’s about – the HP Slate 500 is more oriented towards business use, rather than consumer fun, and runs Windows 7 professional, which supports a wide range of Windows programmes which makes it great for a business environment. As for it’s specs: It is powered by Intel Atom Z530 processor chip (1.6GHz), 1GB of non-upgradable DDR RAM, and has a 1024 x 600 capacitive multi-touch screen. It also ahs an accelerometer and support 1080p video. Much like many things in the corporate/business world, the HP Slate 500’s price is no different – best wait to buy that Armani suit if you’re looking to get this. [...]
