Meizu’s M9 Release Announced On Meizu’s New-look Website

Meizu’s M9 Android smartphone has now been released, and in good time for the closing-in winter holiday. The smartphone is powered by the ARM Cortex A8-based Samsung S5PC110, the same chip that is used by the Samsung Galaxy S. It has a 3.5-inch capacitive touchscreen with a resolution of 960 x 640 and runs Android 2.2 with a customised Android UI. It’s connectivity includes GSM, GPRS, EDGE, WCDMA, HSDPA, HSUPA, WIFI and WAPI. It also supports Bluetooth 2.1. It supports a standard range of video (AVI, MP4, 3GP, MOV, MKV, FLV) and audio (FLAC, APE, MP3, OGG, etc) files, as well as a high-res image viewer, or, take some images of your own on its 5-megapixel CMOS camera that also supports 720p HD recording. Part of the appeal of the M9 is the work they’ve put into making it a viable media player as well. Rounding out the specs is a 1370mAh battery, MiniUSB and MicroSD (up to 32GB) slots, and a 3.5mm headphone jack. The M9 is simple, elegant and self-contained, and is in keeping with the standards of smartphones today.
Meizu has also redone the look of their website – www.meizu.com – and in doing so, has put their announcement of the release of their M9 on their home page, as well as never-before-seen promo images of the device. The refurbished site is currently only in Chinese, however, the English language site will get it’s face-lift and updates in due time. Check out the M9′s official specs on the site as well. Well.. go on! But come back here when you’re done.
