Catching Up: BYD’s Android 2.2 Smartphone
To go along with BYD’s recent tablet whom they affectionately named Alice comes the W901T Android 2.2 smartphone, a much less creative naming scheme. We missed this when it came around too, and so are filling you in now. The W901T is powered by the Qualcomm MSM8255 Snapdragon at 1GHz (with 512MB RAM), which you’ll also find in the HTC Desire HD as well as the recently announced Sharp Galapagos tablets (we think), runs Android 2.2, has an auto-focus 8-megapixel camera, and a 2100mAh battery. It also comes with Bluetooth 3.0, WiFi, WAPI, AGPS, an accelerometer, a compass, and is a Dual SIM/USIM capable handset. Whew, it all sounds good so far. No information yet on pricing and availability – it is certainly not a bad looking device.
