Archos 70b E-readER ready for Pre-order In Europe

70b

That’s a fair bit of R’s and E’s, but anyway, the Archos 70b e-book reader – a 7-inch Android based e-reader that may be an e-reader version of the Archos 70 Android tablet – has now gone on pre-order status throughout Europe, and costs around USD$131. France, being the first of the European countries to receive their 70b’s are now enjoying their 7-inch WVGA touchscreen devices that have Wifi connectivity, and possible USB dongle support. They’ll also be able to store 4GB’s worth of files internally, and up to 16GB externally. The 70b e-reader comes with stereo speakers and allows for video playback and the battery lasts for around 10 hours or reader, 6 of video watching, and 18 of music listening.  What is not guaranteed however, but marked as a possibility is its support for Adobe DRM. What’s interesting is that the 70b looks awfully a lot like a matte and more rounded version of Nextbook’s Next2 – also a 7-inch Android e-book reader – but costs a bit more than the 70b. Seemingly based off the same base structure, I guess the French and the Americans will have to meet to share comparisons, baguette sandwiches and hot dogs.
