Yinlips V902HD Packing SC8600
Yinlips has a new offering for us, the V902HD. This 4.3-inch layer sports beneath its bonnet a Sochip Sc8600 chip which, from the image above of the familiar UI, is a solid workhorse that will give you 768p, but falls short of the glory of its bigger brother, the Sc9800, which does 1280p. 768p refers to 1366×768 video resolution, and is slightly higher than 720p’s 1280×720. Sadly, though, the PMP market is not a game of inches (or pixels), and Pacino’s speech from Stone’s Any Given Sunday does not really apply here. At any rate, the player will support a wide variety of video file formats – more than you’d know what to do with or are easily “available”. All in all, this looks like a pretty standard player. It’s not jaw-dropping (but so long has it been since we saw a PMP worthy of excitement!) but it is solid. It looks to have the standard SC UI, which is easily workable and intuitive. It’s got expansion for up to 8GB and comes stock in 4GB flavour.
