Video: Mystery 5-Inch RK2808 MID w/ 3G
At the Global Sources China Sourcing Fair yesterday, the largest of it’s kind in the world, Raz and I stumbled upon some goodies at the Rockchip booth. This here is a mystery, unnamed 5-inch RK2808 device. It’s quite thick and sort of lacking in general aesthetic quality, but has a feature set that is quite impressive. It’s got a customised UI so that Android (1.5) doesn’t display the standard menu, but instead rotates the desktop – with a nice 3D effect – to a different desktop with shortcuts to the various menus you want to access. There is a small dock menu to the left that just has general options – it’s difficult to explain in words so watch the video. Also included this device is 3G and a SIM slot. Impressive stuff.
